Evaluation and results of MTT2

Well overall it was not so bad but there were numerous problems because people either didn't turn up without talking to me or went dead due to technical problems. Last time in MTT 1, it was my fault for not putting up brackets early and properly seed teams but I didn't expect it to be participants this time that cause the tourney to start up late. I like not to be secretive about how tourneys are done so will put info below for people who are interested in knowing how this time's tourney had problems.
1. Trouble with attendance
- Some people just didn't turn up and I had to reorganize brackets which delayed the start of the tournament severely.
Gom had to quit because Justfly who is his teammate didn't show up and he couldn't find replacement. A point to consider is that it is 2 am there when tourney starts so I wasn't so terribly surprised
Swift didn't turn up until the end of the tournament. I think there was a misunderstanding between him and me. I have a guess that he just meant he would enter as a reserve if there was a shortage of teams. Though would have been better if he posted that he just wanted to be in reserve.
So 2 teams were gone before we even started and brackets had to be altered delaying the start of the tourney.
2. People disappearing for peculiar reasons
- If above problem was the only disturbance, it would have been easy to start the tournament because all I had to do was to alter brackets and tell people about it. However, 2 players disappearing further delayed the start of it because I or the player must find replacement and also I have to ask new replacements about their 3 hero picks.
Piano Man quit after the first game and never returned. He claimed that his cat was stroke by lightening. Crydd almost got dropped because he cannot find replacement quickly but somehow he managed to call up one in the last minute.
Zevargel went dead due to a technical problem and replacement had to be found which took time.
3. People doing things without telling me
- This really confused me a lot when I was organizing the tourney. Participants please tell me when you are doing important things like finding a replacement or hosting a game as a streamer.
I do understand if the end is good, all is good. Along with the replacement The King of Pythons, Stigma somehow crawled his way to the championship and won it. That was miraculous and well done. However, he could have told me that he was searching for a replacement and found one. I went to all the trouble of messaging everyone yet when I found one and asked Kicking who was hosting the other bracket, he said Stigma found replacement already without telling me a thing. Next time, please tell the host that you are going to search replacements yourself or not. It was really not nice when I had to tell the replacement that I found that he can't play because the participant in need found one without informing me.
Kicking couldn't host after the first round so I was in doubt who was going to take over. I found out later Hunter was already hosting the game but he didn't tell me a thing so I was confused for a long time. Next time, please tell me that you are going to host if that is the case.
All in all, below is the what I would like to ask participants to do for the tourney to go smoothly next time.
1. Turn up on time
- Unless you specified that you are going to turn up late like an hour late, people who are on time have to wait for an extended period of time before the tourney starts. Please be on time to get games going faster. Also it would be rude to those people are participating by staying late because often the tourney starts 1 am or 2 am for them.
2. Post your hero picks when you sign up
- Please post this as quickly as possible. Preferably when you sign up. Updating this info on last minute delays the tourney from starting.
3. Be specific when you want to be in reserve
- This caused some trouble in MFW last time as well. Participants please be specific when you want to be in reserve when you sign up. If you are unsure about turning up on time, ask to be in reserve with exact wording reserve on sign up page. This prevents other people from accusing you for turning up late. Reserves are not required to turn up.
4. Tell the host when you are finding replacements or hosting a game
- This prevents the host from finding an unneeded replacement when the one in need already found one. As a streamer, tell the host when you are hosting a game. If it is not done without telling the host, it can result in unwanted complications and arguments especially regarding rules.
In addition, I plan to ask streamers to be a referee as well next time. I don't think there is a need to separate two roles from what I have experienced so far while organizing the tourney.
The results are shown in below bracket page and hero picks can be viewed in same page's discussion tab.
