The title says it all, Catachans are kind of screwy in their role after t2 hits. Catachans are often depicted in the lore with flamers and it would seem to make sense to give them flamers instead of guardsmen. I propose that they get three flamers per quad instead of four but otherwise directly port the upgrade from the guardsmen unit. Perhaps their sergeant if you get the flamer upgrade gets a bigger, meaner flamer instead of a melta gun.
Envisioned role: Flamer catachans serve as horde breakers, much more capable of exploiting flamers then guardsmen by virtue of their health and melee damage. They can also serve in the harassment role, easily burning gen farms to a crisp which is perfectly within the IG's strategy of attrition.
Optional: I love the smell of promethium in the morning!
This ability replaces Explosive Shot.
Cost: 50 energy
Burns the targeted area with flame, dealing 10 flame AoE ability damage every second in radius 12 and slowing down all infantry within the area of effect by 25-40% (to be figured out). Ability lasts 15 seconds or until the Catachan Devils move. Range 20, cooldown 50 seconds.
Any thoughts on this?

You're removing one of the two abilities that makes catachans worth it despite the squad having 26 range, 140 infantry hp per model that cost power to reinforce, and only 4 out of 6 models doing any noticeable ranged damage at all assuming no upgrades.

I thought them having both "I love the smell" and explosive shot would be OP?
Your opinion on the rest of is psycho (do remember that "I love the smell of" is strictly optional)?
