Could we change something with Orbs of the Omnissiah?

Colour me biased since I'm a Techmarine player, but I'm really not all that happy with the state the Orb is in right now, actually for quite some time allready.
The fact that it neither sticks to targets nor affects Monstrous Creatures ( as I think pretty much any other similar AV Grenade does ) just doesnt make it worth to pick over the really awesome shield.
The only situation where I'd take the Orb is against a Bane Blade or one of the more dangerous versions of the Land Raider.
Against everything else I rather take the shield and just Melta the target to death, because without it the TM would be forced to retreat after throwing his Orb anyway, most likely.
You know, I'm usually one of the bigger fluff bunnies and otherwise would argue
" it propably shouldnt affect Monstrous Creatures, its an EMP! "
but any other AV grenade in the game does.
Also all the others dont bare the risk to accidently drain your own energy or even better, stun your own Dreadnought when you try saving it from the enemy's ones.

Since the Orbs dont stick to targets, have a timer, can friendly fire, dont affect monstrous creatures and dont allow you to take your really excellent shield -- they are just not worth it.
I dont think I'm going too far when I ask that ANY of these points get looked into.
- end of rant -

Orbs are also the best anti-bubbleshield thing in the game because of the insane amount of energy it drains and is pretty damn effective at disabling anything that requires energy.
I would not make it point-and-click target on vehicles as that would ruin some of its utility while making the strongest av grenade in the game massively op.
Although I would make it affect monstrous creatures, I mean what's the balance reason for it not doing so?

orb's amazing, it is not expensive as an upgrade, burns mana.
and if you really need to combo it, then you also have the artificer's armor, just bate enemy vehicles to your mines. either that, or chain with ASM melta bomb.
a hero that can debuff, do av damage, and av snare, and if one is saying that the snare is not good, then... well that's too much.
stunning vehicle is not the orb's only use, so i don't see how the non-clickable nature of the ability is strictly a negative. example: banshees are rushing in -> orb -> no warshout
also in comparing the shield vs. orb, it's just a matter of taste, i don't find the shield to be that excellent especially with the short range of the melta gun. it doesn't even prevent knockback, the energy absorption is the same as all the other hero's shields, so it's really worse than everybody else's (except commisar's of course)

the orb is the second best techy wargear available , behind the mark target armor .

The orb has multiple uses. As stated before me already.
It shouldn't become targetable like the other av nades.
I think it's fine as it is. All the negative things that can happen is just the risk of using it so close to your own units since it can get you a pretty damn pig payoff ^^
A case could be made that it should also stun monstreous creatures though.

According to the wiki his shield has a 5:1 damage to energy ratio which is better than most if not the best (edit: I guess this pretty standard), and it has a 20% incoming accuracy debuff. Given how cheap it is it is hard to turn down.
The orb does a decent amount of damage (150) and completely disables for 12 seconds, again according to the wiki. Given the length of stun and 100% disable I think it's in a good spot. I thought it affected carnifexes and whatnot but that's pretty lame if it doesn't.
Regarding the energy burn, reliably hitting something without spiking the TM himself is rather difficult. IMO tanking huge amounts of ranged fire with the shield or saving energy for bionics/mark target is the better option.

It should affect monstrous creatures, especially if haywire grenades affect them...

Orb is very powerful. To also stun monstruous creatures would be fine.

thanks
on a related note, i also find it amusing when people say energy instead of power.

All it'd really need is the ability to effect Monstrous Creatures. If people argue fluff, it can just be that the Orbs are geared to interfere with Synapse or Warp-based entities, as it is possible to make EMPs that interfere with things in general rather than just circuits.

Yeah there are some strong Monstrous Creatures out there who should be threatend by the Orbs too. You still need a good aiming and anticipation and therefor the reward should be great not only against vehicles.
