Tyranoform addition

I find it kinda sad you can simply walk over the spires after it has been called down.

What do you guys think of these things becoming uncrushable after X seconds after being called down? Not all of them necessary but let's say 3 opposite ones or even chosen by the Tyranid player. Another path to take could be to make them upgradable to be uncrushable for ~20~ red? Or something in those lines.

This will allow the Tyranid player to benefit a little longer from these things if he wishes to invest in them after being called down.
If this is technically possible of course.

Thoughts?

They could be uncrushable by default, instead the infestations towers should be crushable by transports/dreds.

I've long thought they should probably not crush. In T3 you tend to have stuff that crushes your own towers and the nuke itself is a bit meh.

yeah make them uncrushable period , its not like it is particularly difficult to just shoot them any way.

Just make them uncrushable.

I agree i think they should be uncrushable

Also ill take it 1 step further and say u should be abel to place the small spires whare u want within the radious of the tranaformation. This could be used to creat choke points / or to hit retreating tanks

given that it spawns 6 tower other than the main one i think the number would have to be reduced. or maybe the damage. with the stats that it has now you could do 1350 explosive damage in one spot or make a wall 7 towers long... the latter is assuming they wouldn't destroy each other.

something else to look at, if it hasn't been change already, would be damage equalization on the towers. 4 of them apparently do 300 and the other 3 do 50...

would certainly make it a more interesting global though.

Hmm multi-target Tyranoform sounds interesting.

Sounds a little too good for the disruption it does and how every tower instakills structures.

I would be more worried about the fact that if you could manually place the towers you could simply entrap ALL vehicles in a cage with it, it would be op.

well considering the towers don't come up simultaneously I highly doubt that would ever happen unless your opponent was microing his vehicle at all...

place the first 2 behind, place the other 2 infront of it and 1 on the side + 1 capillary on the other side, tell me how a lr or bb is going to dodge that.

By driving to the side instantly, or it could just shoot them, or the army could just shoot them since they have very little health. Not like Tyranids have mega strong on-the-spot AV anyway, if you know what I mean - manticores/wraithguard/plasma devs/eldritch/cyclone missle launcher.

Still, I don't like the idea of choosing where to place the towers; I'm just playing devil's advocate. I would prefer it for the pattern of the current nuke to be randomised.

They have strong enough "on the spot AV". Just take a look at all their squads.
Like warriors doing heavy melee in T2 and the zoa having a snare on an ability
with a cooldown as long as the snare lasts..., not to mention the cheap venom brood that can also give you ranged synapse after a small price.

Non of the nukes are random, they all have a fixed pattern.
This game doesn't need more randomness.

actually i would like to be able to put a direction for it (also for Rocks) to rotate the nuke

so it would not allways be the same where the second spike comes up.

Are you sure? Isn't that what makes people generally deem the tyranid nuke to be UP? The fact that is so slow and the pattern so simple? I hardly think randomising it would be that bad.

Rocks have a pattern? Allways looked pretty random to me.

Yes every nuke has its own pattern.

no to randomization , the only saving grace to tyranoformation is that you can at least aim the center spire and nuke select units with it

see roks: UPPER LEFT, UPPER LEFT.

same thin with tyranoform, unless you think you can actually dodge all the spikes.
