Hello,

The problem is when I download the elite mod, I don't have any .exe file so when I launch the game, I just have the basic DoW 2 Retribution. I tried to delete the game and the current elite mod files/folder and reinstall everything. I tried to download the mod from the topic "2.7 patch release" on this website. [/url]. But in the end of the day, the problem is the same and I don't know how to fix it. I didn't see any topic that could give me explanation so, if you have any idea how to fix it, it would be nice.

Make sure you are installing 2.6.1 first, and then 2.7.0

I reload game n instaler in claer folder but stil nthng i have icon but itsnot work

in game folder dnt have strtr exe for elite mod

but ive played it alrdy 2 years

Did you install your game anywhere BUT the default location?

wil try another way
but game was playable

Sounds like a bad download. Try to download the full installer again and lemme know if you get the same result.

First, thank you for your previous answers, I totally forgot to check the forum.

I did abandon downloading elite mod, but the more I see vids, the more it makes me want to play this
So I tried again, as Indrid did recommend, I first downloaded 2.6.1, then 2.7, and the 2.7.2 (I hope it was not a mistake)

The issue is the same: it's still the "basic game" DoW 2 retrib. Not the Elite mod.

I had no message error during the dl. The path to the elite folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dawn of War II - Retribution\Elite wich is the default and good one I guess. In the "Elite" folder, I have "Archives", "Config" and "ESLreporter" folders.

I looked some tutorial on YouTube in case I did something wrong, but they do the exact same thing as I have done.
If you need any extra informations that can help you understand what the problem is, just ask me.

You only need the 2.7.2 installer--> viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3207

Are you using the shortcut the installer makes?
Don't use the retail one as that will boot retail.

Do you have multiple drives?
If so, make sure both DoW2: Retribution and Elite Mod are on the same drive.

A last resort could be to validate integrity of the game files on Steam.

Ok so I re-downloaded the 2.7.2 patch only and used the shortcut (that I didn't even notice) and it's working.
I should have noticed the shortcut earlier. It's still strange Elite mod does not work via steam. The problem is resolved anyway.

Otherwise you'd have to delete the mod every time in case you needed to be on retail. For the campaign or the last stand or whatever
You can boot it via Steam if you set the boot options to the mod.
