I play a lot of IG and, as opposed to when I play Chaos, I often don't spend much power in T1, and sometimes go T2 before my enemy - or at least before they have a T2 unit out.
So if you get T2 before your enemy - what do you get? Assuming you have 2xGuards+Sentinel and possibly some wargear, what's the next step?
Getting Anti-Armor Storm Troopers when your enemy has a vehicle out is easy, getting Manticore vs. Setup-Team spam is also obvious. But against a "standard/non-specialized T1 army" such as 2CSM+Tics, or 2Scouts+Tacs+Devs, or an IG mirror (of 2Guardsmen+Sentinel)... What then?

In short;
If you're ahead come T2, what do you get to snowball your advantage?

You get out a vehicle if you are ahead.
Depending how far ahead you are you can get a genbash off as your opponent has nothing to deal with vehicle armor.
In this case you get a chimera.
