i don't have an issue but i could see others having issues. a non-grey colour would work best given the background colour.

It's just fine for me as it is though. Red seems a little bit odd to me but might very well work :p. It's also the color of admin stats. Usually the links are (light) blue. Wouldn't that work here?

It could be a bit restless with the grey-red theme. Another option would be to just decorate links with font weight or underline.

Yeah grey is bad. Orange, green or blue would be better. As long as it's a muted tone and not too bright it'll be fine on the white.

underline would be ok. bold makes it look like the person is putting emphasis on the word.
