Tournament Wall of Shame

Having noticed some replacements and even no-shows in Rumble 6 now (again) I suggest keeping a Wall of Shame list for these.
  • No-show is a major heresy, and heretics are automatically moved to the bottom when tournament slots are filled (more no-shows, further down)
  • Getting replaced just before the event is not quite as bad but still lame, so it's a minor heresy and the players should be moved just above the no-show offenders
  • If there are sufficient clean participants, heretics are excluded slash go to the replacement waiting list
Maybe the heresies should expire after X time, idk what would be reasonable.

I like the idea :D

Careful on punishment when it's completely out of the person's hands though.
Good example: ISP fucking up your connection for 5 hours.
Bad example: Your wife. Looking at you Tex :D

If there's a good explanation it can be forgiven I expect. Of course if there's a good explanation every month then something's fishy...

No-showing is very lame and seems to happen a lot. Only 16 people entered and we couldn't even get them all.

Torpid withdrew at the last minute, claiming illness. But at least he helped out with some reffing.

And yes, Mr. Raffa I'm gonna talk about you. He stepped in to replace Torpid, but wasn't happy about facing Ace of Swords (who was switched to his match because he was late). Plays one game, loses, then leaves. Combine this with his antics in ranked and friendly games and I'm very apprehensive about inviting him to anything that I'm a part of now.

lol. Firstly I was not unhappy at playing Ace - we play reasonably often and I was questioning why we were playing in the first round for pretty obvious reasons.

I'm gonna use this opportunity to talk about something I was mentioning with Ace before we played our game, and this tourney was basically a showcase for the trololol nature of Tyranids. Doesn't anyone think it's, like, kind of funny how Ace and Riku, two long-term SM mains, both go further than in any previous tournament when NOMG they use Tyranids instead of SM?

It's annoying because there are fanboys here who mean that legitimate complaints, such as from these two, get mixed in with dumb comments and so nothing gets changed. Actually comments get deleted when they are v. disagreeing. Not mine, but I've noticed a few posts that were pretty, well, controversial and were gone a few days later.

I was trolled by nids. Yes I'm not happy when I get smacked by nids or eldar, two races which I think most would agree are the strongest by far, since there's little you can do against a player of quite similar skill, assuming he doesn't derp.

e.g. Noisy v Riku, or me vs Ace. I'm not cheapening ur tourney win Riku by any stretch, but there's a reason you didn't even pick Apo as a hero.

So yeh, that does piss me off.

I think his point is if you sign up, cancel, get back in at the last minute, yet quit after 1 game, people won't appreciate it. If you don't intend to play, don't sign up...

Quitting because of Tyranids is just being whiny. Noisy lost the final to Riku's LA, he has the most reason of anyone to bitch about that comm/faction but didn't. He's thinking of ways to beat it instead of giving up.

Just dont wait for players more of 10 minutes to start the event.
and after the start of event, every game if the player afk/offline or whatever at start of match just disqualify him after 5 mins. You cannot stream tournament with long breaks for this reason, and it is not fair to rest of players as well who are in and waiting for their opponent.
also on breaks, put music on:)

Unfortunately too few dow2 players are ready to do this, or have ever been for that matter. And whenever I tell this to ppl straight, I end up being flamed as smug/troll/w.e.

But then people will have to mute it and they'll miss stream starting again. :(

So maybe I should just quit playing something I totally enjoy just because there is always a looming risk of failure right?

Don't talk about my wife, that's my job.

Congrats on your win. Clearly you still have the time of day to stay focused and alone.

Tex, although there's much sympathy for your situation, I'm pretty sure responses like those is a quick way to lose it.

Let's keep it civil.

I didn't say anything about your wife...

Thank you, although you don't mean it and are being mean for no reason :?

Yes I can find the time to play a game and have some alone time away from my girlfriend. If by this you are trying to state that my communication with my other half is better than yours you succeeded.

Canadians are supposed to be nice :(

That's exactly the reason why i don't put music inbetween games.

I am nice... mostly.

And you are right, most Canadians are nice people, along with being awesome xD.

You are reading way to deeply into something that is superficially concise.

what, i dont rly understand the reason about not putting music on, instead of waiting for players or whatever.
every tournament stream on twitch has music like this, even some lonely streamers do without tournyment cast, but yes they are for bigger public but this is not a reason to not using music.

Unless you're putting on music from the game you are streaming, I think you just annoy a lot of people with your personal music on Streams.

if you think listening to music is annoying then the problem is somewhere else but not the music for sure.

Faultron. It just is really annoying and not useful at all to have music playing during breaks. people don't wanna have that shit. They wanna be able to hear when you start streaming again. If you play music they will have to mute you and check in every 20 mins or so and miss the start of the stream.

If it's like a fixed 5-10 min break or something it's fine.
But not when you have a break till the next thing pops up.
