And now the moment you've all been waiting so patiently for: Beginner's Tourney registration!

The tourney will follow standard rules for the MRT, so be sure to read up on them here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=135

Once again, we'll be using the honest system. Enter this tourney if you THINK you are a beginner. We don't need no advanced players crashing this party and stomping everyone here. We'll find out. How? We'll have refs and possibly streamers. If we have streamers, the community will be watching. Yeah, that's right. We'll be watching you! And if we catch advanced players in this tourney, you'll be DQ'd and kicked out, not to mentioned heckled and humiliated, and possibly blacklisted in this community. You don't want that, do ya? Didn't think so. SO DON'T BE A DICK! Beginners only please.

The first sixteen people to reply with their steam names and their choices of three commanders will be in the tourney. Anyone who registers after will be put on standby, and are encouraged to show up on tournament day, which will be on February 22nd 10AM PST, as real life does tend to get in the way and there's always at least 1 drop out. Players who register on standby will take the place of registered players in the order they registered (I'm using "register" a lot, aren't I?).

Each match will be best two out of three, with the exception of the Finals, which will consist of best three out of five (brutal!). The losers of the semi finals match will compete for third place in a best of three match

Prizes will consist of: Darksiders, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords, Final Fantasy 7, and Brutal Legends. And just like last tournament, first place winner will have his first choice of two games, with second place having one choice of the last two, and third place getting the scraps.

BUT WAIT! There's more! Alexander was so kind as to donate a prize this time to the first place winner! So the winner will be walking away (not so much walking, but rather sitting) with three prizes. I'll let him tell ya what it is.

Now, winning this tourney has a price. If you win, you'll be promoted to intermediate and will no longer be able to partake in the beginners tourney.

You shouldn't be allowed to participate imo, from what i have seen you are pretty decent.

I have always really wanted to take part in tourney and since I suck amazingly at 1v1s I feel I may be suitable.

Quick question though? I am using GMT so for me it will start at 6pm. How long will the tournament last? Or rather? How many games will I be playing roughly?

Could go on till about 12 if you make it to the finals. A lot less otherwise. Could be shorter if people don't take breaks, but they're likely to.

Errr. Hmmm. I would definiately like to do it, but whether I could be on for six hours is a different story. Put me on the backup list please. Think it will be best if I do not jeopardise the tournament.

I'm beginning to get concerned about the stipulations of "not being a beginner"... I have been winning a few games, and I guess that's not really in itself cause for concern, but I just don't want to be blacklisted or ostracized from this community if I play and I end up being deemed not a beginner...

I am NOT bragging or being cocky, I just don't know exactly where the lines are drawn and I don't want to be labelled an ass for not knowing where I am...

I understand your concern. I've yet to put in any kind of stipulations. Sadly, there's no real way to judge people on their performance. Suggestions are welcome.
