Doesn't make much sense in my opinion, making iron halo too easily countered in that scenario.

Yeah I think that's a bug from a while ago, it definitely shouldn't do that.

My guess too is that it is an oversight on the knockback type.
Shouldn't be hard to change for the Lulmaster.

It's a specific bug of Iron Halo. Bubble FC also gets knocked down by DA leader leaps.

so does this bug extend to all bubble shields? i've had my WL and TM get knocked back by knob shotgun default attacks (with the shield on of course)

I think the WL's shield is also affected. The TM's shield doesn't provide KB immunity though

Bingo. Iron halo but also other wargear/abilities that grant weapon_knockback immunity are still affected by light_weapon_knockback unless said wargear also includes light_weapon_knockback immunity like the fc shield wall for instance.

I don't like that the knob shotgun is "light_weapon_knockback" because I can pretty much assume now, that is the reason why it doesn't work on the warboss, ogryns, nobs, or nob leaders.

Aye, it's rather unintuitive the way it works on bubbleboy but not those units right now. I view it mainly as a bug with iron halo and similiar wargear not granting light kb immunity as there are a few other cases such as DA/lictor leap that does this kb type.

I've no problem with knob doing weapon_knockback but I'll just add to your list of new units being affected by such a change and leave balance concerns in your and others more experienced hands.

  • Warboss
  • Nobs (flash gits not included)
  • Nob leaders
  • Ogryns
  • Lictor
  • Warrior/venom brood
I think that's it.

I think Relic's intention has been to simplify the knockback types down to weapon/ability so I'd interpret the stray light weapon etc. as unintentional oversights.

Just that the kb affects units it shouldn't, and doesn't affect units it should.

I found the discussion hard to follow; how do you guys intend to fix this? Making it NOT work on the Bubbleboy and WORK on Nobz, Lictor etc?

Change the knockback type to 'weapon' like everything else, of course...

Problem still remains for warlock leader/lictor/autarch/seer council leap or are we changing those to regular weapon_knockback as well (or removing in case of warlock leader perhaps)? I'd personally prefer light weapon kb to remain in the game but I can see the reason for simplifying.

Well the name implies it should be "lighter" than regular weapon knockback. As if they intended the shotgun etc to only knock over light infantry perhaps? But then decided against it and didn't think of shields and so on.

I 100% agree with changing the knockback type to weapon. After that though, we definitely need to increase the price of the knob knife though!
