Noticed over the last 2 versions / patches - there is definitely more spam.

Ranging from 3x 1 unit (not tooo spammy) to crazy amounts.

A trend seems to be a lot more infantry too rather than vehicles.

Now - it's annoying as fuck don't get me wrong, but people play in a way they wanna play and there's nothing you can do other than cry, or try to teach them a lesson. I'd rather the latter (whilst I'm crying).

The problem I'm actually facing is 2-fold:

1) A lot of you know that I have my moments. Mostly I'm not great, but what I lack in fighting, I tend to make up for in capping and assisting
2) A lot of you know I main OM (haters gonna hate) and I struggle for counters to "spam".

Be it Tacs, CSM, Shees, GMs etc - I just can't seem to handle it.

I try for Operatives with incendiary to try and burn them away, and I try Psybolt SS but not much seems to have the impact as it's huge investment early on. Even going for ISTs with Grenade Launchers can prove very costly.

Any of the above I find is then quickly countered by a purchase of ASM / Raptors etc and then I get mashed up in melee.

Am I left with just crying and embarrassing myself? Or anyone got any ideas?

Yeah you are totally right om are sooooo underpowered.

In my opinion - OM are quite specialised in as much as there's lots to manage to maxmise them.

Sometimes I can railroad people but other times not. So this is not just against spam - but also if they're a good player.

But your response isn't what I had in mind. I'd like to be able to work this out without giving up and if anyone has any tips that'd be great.

Oh yeah - Reapers also ruin me.

Probably just using wrong counters. Things like Tac spam can be beat by something as simple as a single Purgation. Vindicare also works but takes longer.

Intuitively if somebody is spamming one unit all you have to do to defeat that build is to spam the counter to that unit yourself. Granted this gets moer complicated in team games because sometimes the counter to a certain unit counters it far better in 1v1 than 3v3, and also their allies can also do things to counter your counter...

Psilencer purgation would definitely counter tac spam pretty well and probably reapers too since they are also HI. It's just a matter of whoever attacks first will lose because out of cover. Plasma dread also probably smacks up reapers pretty hard.

Yeah - this is team games but let's assume I'm not doubled.

It's the eco that does me. So I lose squad members, and spend on reinforcements that otherwise could have gone on more squads or upgrades.

I panic and try to rush to t2 to hope that purchase would then make up for it but I should consider going hard t1 / 1.5 for some reason I always worry about getting to t2 last and then I have nothing to counter a simple vehicle for instance.

Purgation before Psycannons is a struggle due to range, so I should get better at setting up that advance with disruption with Nemisis Vortex or GL barrage or something.
