Dawn of War Codex

I was wondering if there are any plans to create another race in DOW2 Elite? I know its a multi-disciplined, huge effort to do, but I'm sure its something everyone would like to see.
If no development is currently underway, I'd be interested in sponsoring some people to do it.

There are words being tossed around, sure, but nothing past the brainstorming phase as far as I see it.

Thinking about it, I would suggest that Tau would be the most probable new race (even though I don't like them that much).

Tau might possibly come eventually. A mod with many tau models and other assets has existed for at least 5 years now so they're the most doable, but there's no guarantee they'll ever be added to elite.

Tau would be cool, some models that currently exist could be repurposed for Tau models.

A farseer could be changed to look like an Ethereal, or a blood crusher could be changed to a krootox etc


Tbh though, and it would be FAR more difficult to add, I'd murder for Dark Eldar.

Archon/Wytch/Haemonculus as heroes, and they've a great roster list of units, plus plenty of wargear to choose from.

Agree with all your points.

But I want to point out that I don't think adding new races to the current game would be wise. The beauty of Elite is that it's nicely balanced. Adding races while preserving the balance is very hard and very tedious (as see now with the Ordo Malleus).

Schepp, I totally agree. It would be awhile off before another should be added, but I do feel that having another race on the horizon in a year would help keep people playing and even bring in newer players.

Though balance should always come first.

I'f absolutely love to see Tau in the game. Who is the person(s) that added the Ordo Malleus race? Can I/we contact them to see about arranging the work, if they'd be interested?

There's no single person. It's like 10 people. And making Tau would be just as hard, really, probably harder.

let's first roughly balance OM before talking about adding a new race tho

Well, I'm happy to at least partially fund development if some incentive is needed

That kinda requires the team to be professional and organised though but with that you get increased risk of burnout.
