More new units?

So, I understand, that the Elite team has a whole bunch of stuff to work on, but still want to ask, are there any more new (non-hero) units in development?
There are just so many in the tabletop for each faction and they all look so cool it really makes one wish they were present in the game)

I think ELITE's design philosophy is more "balance first", its not really the goal of this mod to get in all the units and upgrades from the TT/fluff. Thats I think more the goal of the codex edition mod ( check it out ).
The only new stuff that might come, that I know of, is the Malleus Inquisitor, his Acolytes and maybe a (Primaris) Psyker for IG. I think Possessed for CHaos were in the talk at some point.

I agree with this but the problem is that the modders would
A) Need to create or copy more animations for the new unit in question with the former being very difficult
B) Make sure it fulfills a unique new role in their respective race
C) Create an entirely different new model for it
D) Make sure its balanced
E) Make sure it doesn't break the game coughVindicarecough (no offence)
Other than that, I think ELITE's original goal was to create a more balanced DoW2 multiplayer. If you really want a crapton of units, check out Firestorm over Kronus or Ultimate Apocalypse mod for Dawn Of War Eternal Crusade and Dawn Of War Soulstorm respectively

Someone posted the complete model of the Chosen Space Marines, that where pretty cool, but i don't think we will ever see them.
For sure there will be new Grey Knights units.
Maybe with the new Codex for the IG that will be out soonish there will be inspiration for a new unit or at least some upgrades.
Personally, i think is best to add upgrades to units and not add new one (except for Tyranids as i said in a recent post).
Small things like a ranged build for Plague Champion or give some new option to Guardsmen, for example, are more than enough to put some new life in the game, and with far less effort than make a whole new unit.

Well, I thought of wraithblades for the eldar. Animations and models shouldn't be a problem - basically take the wraithguard and give them space marine or GK Brother Captains melee animations (depending on weapons they carry). The eldar army lacks a heavy close combat unit and WB should give them a couple of new possibilities. Shouldn't be very balance-disrupting too, since they retain the relative squishiness and not-super-high mobility of the wraithguard, but can possess a high level of melee skill and significant power damage.
Can be also made a unique "summon" unit for, say, warlock as assault terminators are for the Force Commander.
P.S. And of course I didn't want to say that all tabletop units should be implemented. Just asked of there were any plans)

I see the concept of a wraithblade as more of an upgrade for the wraithguard rather than an entirely new different unit.
Same concept as the shury cannon
Either you keep that anti-range blob or go for an av or in this case, anti-melee

Not a bad idea.

Good enough as well) Think they should be sort of a "glass cannon" amongst heavy melee units - even more deadly than assault terminators, equipped with claws, but much more fragile. Should have some sort of disruptive ability and immunity to knockback/suppression though, to help them survive tough encounters.

I think a Seer Council with chanelling runes or fortune + spirit stones combo can fulfill the role of presurring (melee) terminators

I think wraithblade described as such in this thread would be really too strong. Banshees are already awesome at counter-initiation and wraithguard themselves force you to melee them with their uber ranged deeps. The combination of WG and WB would be too strong as you would be forced to engage the WG in melee only to get slaughtered by this better-than-banshees glass cannon CI unit which you can't shoot at range at due to the barrage of WGs.
Also, you could get WG to force some jump unit purchase or a teleport on their hero and then just swap to WB once they get them to counter that purchase :l

Perhaps, I'm not a balance expert))) the whole point is an idea of a heavy melee unit for eldar.

Also, under some of Indrid's cast videos I saw a comment about a new faction - The Tau Empire, which has already been developed, but is currently in a balancing process. Can someone please confirm this statement? Cause I'm already getting over-excited for my favorite space-communists and wouldn't want to just find out eventually that it's only a rumour

I think you misheard him. I am 99% sure the Tau are a long, long way from being even close to completion. It's mostly a lack of models.
Plus iirc we can't use the Tau Commander model from last stand (tho some of his animations, like the blue flamer, are in Elite) because it's illegal to give people free assets for those who havent bought him for TLS.

The fact that Tau are in development is a know fact.
But there is no date.
Grey Knights still need attentions and I agree it's better not to rush something as big as a new race.

Ouch... Was already hoping to seeing the TC as the first commander for the Tau. Still, just gonna have to wait patiently for em)
