Leman Russ black box

Anyone else noticed the black box that is in the Leman Russ? It can be seen under it and sticking up through the chassie. Has this always been there? Or is it somethin that came with the Krieg commisars sticking out of transports and tanks?

could be a rank unlock then. i don't remember what unlocks when but i know it's listed somewhere. someone could also check in the model editor and see if anything shows up with the different unlocks.

Unless the wiki is outdated, the Russ is supposed to unlock a dozerblade at level 13 I think. Hmm.

Do you have this problem with both the normal Russ and the Krieg one?

When you say it I seem to remember there being a dozer blade in the past. Checked the krieg and it has it. Got a hunch and checked the chimera and it does not either have any visual upgrades. Manticore seems fine though.
It seems like somehow the Russ and the chimera are not displaying their visual upgrades. Only the russ has the black box in it though. Hoping to find the cause.. Don't really feel like reinsalling just to check if it solves it.

there is a model for the blade in the game. it may have been removed when relic did that pass on IG unlocks. i was trying to find the camo net texture but never did...

Ok done some checking. Reinstalled to be sure and can come to the conclution that the problem lies in the Elite mod. The visual upgrades are visible in retail before and after elite is installed. In elite the visual rank upgrades for the Chimera and Leman Russ are not visible and in the case of the Leman Russ there is a black box inside the model that pokes oout from under it and at certain points in the chassie (which usually represents missing textures).
Can anyone confirm that they also has this bug? Cause then it makes sense to add it to the bugs and issues thread.

Did some digging in the forum. ON the last page of the General Discussion section I found a thread that had adressed this issue before. http://www.dawnofwar.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43

I tried the "fix" there but what it did was to forcibly pimp out the Russ with all the level upgrades while leaving the chimera untouched.

i believe the black box is a missing or incorrectly pathed model, not a texture. a bad texture should get you a pink and purple checker box or just a black texture if it's a mipmap issue.

Kind of as a side topic, but I think I'm getting the same black box on the back of CHaos Terminators where I believe the Logo would be. I'll upload a picture later to help describe what I mean.

Yeah that's the spot. The model itself is just fine but there's this small patch that's just black like i said :/

Thats because the Chaos Termis are based on the Chaos Lord, and his cape is coming out of there, they just dont have textures for that area-

Ah kk, thank you for that. Was thinking that was supposed to be where the Color Scheme Logo was supposed to go and it just didn't show.
