Chosen Plague Marine(WIP Name)
These Plague Marines favor close-combat compared to their ranged counterparts. They wish to get the frontrow seat to see the horrors and decay they inflict upon their enemies. Armed with Plague Knifes, they excel at killing infantry units.
Health - 1875 speed 4.0
Melee - 16 melee_power damage - Plague Knifes
Ranged - 8 plasma_pvp damage - Plasma Pistol
* General stats not listed here are identical to Plague Marines *
Abilities
Unwavering - Fire normally, even under suppression.
Chosen Plague Marine Aura - Enemy infantry and Spore Mines within 6 radius of a Plague Marine unit move 20% slower and have their health regeneration rate reduced by 100%
Plague Marine Explosion(Edited) - Explode on death, healing allies in a radius 8 for 150 hp (This effects the Plague Marines) and dealing 25 piercing damage to nearby enemies. Enemies stuck by this corrodes the armor of all nearby enemies, increasing damage taken by 15% for 20s. This effects vehicles as well.

How many models to a unit?

I seeyou choose to give them the plasma pistol instead of the bolter and knife like in many miniatures.
I don't conceal that i was intrigued by the idea.
Anyway about the name, i made some research and i found out that, in the fluff, most of the warband dedicated to Nurgle (all descendants of the Death Guard) are connected to the Siege of Vraks.
And by most i mean all but one.
They where defeated, but if you want a less generic and more thematic name (like with the Doom of Malan'tai) you can call them "Veterans of Vraks", "Survivors of Vraks" or something similar.
Just an idea.

Really interesting and cool change dude im assuming its 4 models but im guessing plague swords or plague scythes would be op. i have questions like will they get aspiring champ?, can they have bile grenades and bile spewers? i can see touch of Nurgle being very powerful on this squad so may be very powerful combo to use.use. Il be sad to see plague of undeath go as i often use it, was planning to ask a cost reduction to it or maybe a longer affect on model lose but this new squad sounds awesome so il not be narrow mined. will be checking this to see if u add changes etc:)

Some name ideas:
- Plague Marine destroyer squad or simply destroyer squad (not sure about weaponry though)
http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Legi ... oyer_Squad- Plague champions squad
If specific legion units can be included then:
- Death guard plague marines

Need moar information, boss.
- Melee Skill? At least 70, I suppose.
- Melee charge? I suppose yes, but how much is going to be the distance/duration of the charge?
- Why so little melee damage? 16 power_melee dps is too few if the squad have 3 models.
- Are going to have the melee weapons an special trait? (Ignore melee resistance aura, a debuff?)
- Sad not see a bolter as sidearm

. It would be awesome to change a bit the default chaotic plasma pistol to a more Nurglish theme, with green effects on the plasma shot, a more corroed textures. But I don't know how to change (or if is possible) to change the shooting/plasma shot effects and change his colour.
- Infantry or Heavy Infantry armour?
- Chosen Plague Marine Aura is a bit small IMHO.

3 model. Was stated in the 2.3 tentative changelog patch that Plagues will now have 3 rather than 4 models

Will the Aura/Explosion stack if there's 2 or 3 PC using Chosen Plague marines on the field?
15% debuff for 20 sec ,erm bit long imo. also, TON on them will be devastating as well?

Will the healing stack with, 'Touch of Nurgle'? Be it from nearby ToN Tics or when used on themselves?

I was talking about an alternative for this new Plague Marines.
I don't think Chaos need any more units, but only need some options for the already existing one.
I'm for Dark Apostle of Slaanesh as a new commander or nothing.

Just had a quick experiment - something like this different enough?
Or does it need a bit more to differentiate from the basic Plague marines?

I'd like to suggest giving them like on of these single forehead horns.
Just like one of his shoulderpad Spikes.
Those seem to be quite propular Nurgle Mutations.
Also I wonder if it were Posible to give him one of these three-eyed visors, but there might not be enough space on the model to do it.

I quite like the Sterlings model. But yeah, see if you can slap on a horn ontop of that helmet and see how it compares.

Holy shit that's one big knife. I like that model
For some strange reason it reminds me of truckers delight. For those who have seen that animation you'll know what part I mean.

New version - added a horn mutation, elongated the head a little to look more gasmask influenced, thinned out one of the tubes coming from it as was warping slightly.
Armour also modified with chains and extra protection for close combat.

Small suggestion, mostly regarding the eyes, not sure if its possible though.

Looks promising!
I like the 3-eyes thing suggested by Orkfaeller.
If you lower the 2 actual visors i believe you can put the third easily.
Maybe make the side-horn bigger?
Not as much as

, but enough so they look a little different from the standard point-of-view that we play.

Really don't like the luminous green bug-eyes. Not what I associate with Plague Marines at all (I'm sure there's art of it somewhere, but not sure why you'd want to use that as reference).
The rest of it looks cool though.

Agreed, eyes look very out of place.

If luminous bug eyes aren't the generally agreed upon then how about visors?
Like this one

I asume it pulls inspiration from these.
[The extension jpg has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]
I think it can be pulled off, but maybe thats my gas-mask fetish speaking.
But I gotta admit, maybe the helmet itself could be a bit wider / broader to look more bloaty, less elegant.
