The 3rd Beginners MRT (hosted by me and the Elite Begginers)
Posted: Tue 15 Apr, 2014 1:01 am
Hello there, this is Swift. I have posted on this topic before and have received some useful feedback. My main outlining of this event happened here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=739&start=10 where I said what I thought needed to be said about this event. This thread has subsequently been overrun with certain non tournament items, so I thought that sinceI have received interest, i will post another thread detailing sign up.
First of all, please can you check out the Elite begginers group (yes, it is spelled incorrectly) for updates on this: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DoW2_Elite_Beginners. As for MRT rules I have also linked that (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=135) and will be following the general rules there.
It is a 1v1 tournament hosted by me, RyanM7074 and TGZero. It applies to anyone who considers themselves a noob (often sub 600 hours) but the hourly guideline is flexible. The general rules are:
-All maps come from a map pool similar to one outlined in the linked MRT post (please update me if it changes, I know it is old).
-Players must choose 3 heroes, whose faction can be the same if desired. Random is allowed as I know that some people take it less seriously than others.
-The tournament will require sixteen people to participate plus referees and streamers (if possible).
-All games will be a best of three. The final round is a best of five.
-The losing player of the following match will choose the map and the winner will declare their hero first. The winner gets one chance to veto a particular map, but only one. They cannot use this as a sneaky way to overcome the opponent by changing their hero to suit because refs have eyes you know and will make sure you do not cheat.
-Both players should try to save the replay with a suitable name and send it to a host whilst the referee is obliged to and is relied on most for this duty. It should be saved with the title: BMRT #3 [player] vs [player] Round #X Game #X.
-Score screens should be screenshot if possible but I doubt we will as vigilant as regular MRT.
-Report all scores to any host so that they can update the table.
-Be nice, everyone likes you if you are.
Now that I have nattered, it is your turn to do something. If you wish to take part, please respond with your Steam name (with a link) and your choice of heroes.
If you want to referee the tournament, please reply that you would like that particular position and contact me for further details if necessary.
If you want to stream/referee please respond in a way that says so and contact me for details if necessary.
If you are confused by this post, please respond in a suitable fashion and tell me why.
As for prizes, we are considering making a gift of a game of the winners choice, and a slightly less expensive game to the runner up. The tournament is most likely going to begin at around 7:00pm GMT (UTC, I believe) on 3rd May 2014.
Please feedback, and please actually do this, I really want to get this going.
Thank you for reading all of it, there is a lot.
