Greetings to you, survivors of the grimdark future!

As you may know, the WH40k TT has a new Rulebook. So i decided to put out my old, rusty Models to get some good games going like in the old days. I convinced my firends the usual way, you know, breaking their mind with telpathical psyker powers an stuff, so we can have good times.

One of the greatest things in the 40K universe is the lore i think, so i guess battles with Preferred enemies are fun to play.

So heres the question/task:

whats the fluffy preferred enemies of an army or some charachters you can actually play in TT? (Maybe some others just for fun)

I will try to do a list, so here we go:

Ultramarines vs Hivefleet Behemoth/Nids (for lunching Macragge + 1st Company)
Eldar vs Necrons (keeping the fight of the ancients cuz nothing better to do)
Grey Knighs vs Demons (Chaos said: "your momma!")
Space Wolves vs Thousand Sons (Russ Psyker-pussying + the Prospero thingy)
Salamanders vs Dark Eldar (visiting Nocturne far too "energetic" back then)
Crimson Fists vs Orks (some people just cant stand a good ol WAAGH....)
Nids vs Craftworld Iyanden (for pi**ing off the dead)
Imperial Fists vs Iron Warriors (Cuz "I wanna be the very best!" singing in siege)
Word Bearers vs Ultramarines (Lorgar and Robute no more BFF since Calth)
Blood Angels vs Black Legion (Sanguinius' Death) *from Phoenix*

What happened to IG (Cadians) vs Chaos? Bit broad I know, but the 13th BC was pretty significant was it not?

Most Valhallans hate orks as well.

Pretty much.

Also, is it just me who thinks that SW vs DA rivalry is often so overplayed? I'm aware that in some books they actually butcher each others, but codexes I've read suggest that their rivalry is more like millenia long pissing contest (that may, admittedly, go a little bit too far, what's with this being WH40k).

That said, since it's not "Hatred", we are talking about, but PE, chances are that the rule in question indicate their knowledge of each other rather than really bad blood in this particular case?

Not really, the Astra Militarum Codex talks about it and if you read Cadian Blood, you'll find that most Cadians are actually devastated by the fact that most of them are not at home fighting. It also says that Abaddon controls roughly half of Cadia

so it sort of got retconed.
