After installing 2.2 beta 10 and 11 game still says 2.1

When the game loads it still says 2.1 as opposed to 2.2. I'm not sure what to do about it. Thanks for any help.

You are launching "elite" instead of "elite_beta".

Thanks Lulgrim,
A follow up question would be when I install the upcoming update, or have both the beta and the standard release installed can I switch between the beta and the official release in the same way?

they're technically separate mods and have no conflicts so they work fine together.
