Eldar Shields block damage from nades and arty as well? Or is it just coded retarded like that and is unfixable?

from arty it kinda makes sense, from grenades not really, I guess that's just because they were badly coded.

Yeah, shields protecting from manticore shots is pretty dumb.

Even though it's obvious I wasn't the only one who thought this, I'm really happy other people are expressing how stupid it is those shields block nades/manticore shots :p

Stops aoe stuff as well though, does it not? I'm pretty sure hell fury and incendiary shells do nothing as well.

anything in cover of the shield has received damage diverted to the shield first.

i guess due to dire avengers being so soft and easy to bleed makes sense but yeah stopping manticores and certain ability's and nukes! bit silly

This issue has already been discussed in another thread. The reason why it blocks all types of incomming damage is because of the coding. Anything under the shields protection won't take damage. There have to be some vectors in play since shooting at the unit from the same side of the shield works as it should. I suppose the game doesn't check the aoe type of damage, that's all.

If the hit_object in the energy shield's rbf was changed and artillery was uncheck, would that fix the problem?
