Hi folks, just spreading the word that there's a 2v2 tournament for dawn of war 1: soulstorm coming up, in late July. Winconditions will be annihilate + take and hold. The game version will be vanilla (unmodded) soulstorm.

1st prize - copy of payday for each team member
2nd prize - copy of defy gravity for each team member

Anybody interested head over to: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/soulst ... 247705742/

Post a comment there if you want to drop your name in. This is the group's first tourney, with hopefully many more to come. We're hoping to accrue more members as the group becomes more active, and as interest increases we may host a series of more flavoured tourneys; 1v1s, themed, modded, house rules etc.

Edit: Forgot about the team allocation! At the thread to which I linked above, when you post to join the tourney, you should mention whether you have a partner with whom you want to join (with their steam name), or if you want to throw your name into the random pool. Before the start of the tournament, those players in the random pool will be (wait for it) randomly assigned a team mate for the tournament.

Yup, the group plans to host some modded tourneys once they get more members and hence more interest. Right now they can't afford to split their potential numbers with mods.

Apocalypse mod is due a 1.74 patch relatively soon, bringing back daemons and the daemonhunters, I doubt we'll see a tourney for it before that. As for smooth playing, it's only very recently that soulstorm multiplayer in general was sorted out again thanks to recent patches, so we're hoping to see something of a rejuvenation in interest now that steamworks is handling the MP in a stable manner. :)
