Re: Space Marine Topic

Don't forget something very important, Scouts also have the Melee Resistance Aura as opposed to Rangers, which is a huge plus when it comes to surviving, specially against their best early game counter, jump troops. Also, relevant to safety is the fact that Scout Snipers have no Windup-Wind down whi...

Re: Painboy

I'm the last one wanting a sniper fest game, but I'm a little baffled Sniper Scouts only received a 10 req buff from Retail to Elite. They actually had a 20 req buff a while back, it wasn't recieved very positively, but now that's +20, it seems that nobody seems to care for them anymore. I don't qu...

Re: Painboy

Not trying to nitpick here, but don't Sniper Scouts still cost 35 power? On a personal side-note, I always found them to be a bit overpriced, power wise, for what they bring to the game, specially compared to "the other snipers", Rangers. Sure, Scouts are quite faster, cap 50% faster, and ...

Re: Eldar detection and Destructor

... I certainly can't claim that you meant to say anything other than what you really meant to say. However, your choice of words does make it seem like you spend way more time on the using end of rangers, and much less time, if any, on the receiving end. Getting bled by rangers as Orks is a terrib...

Re: Eldar detection and Destructor

... Rangers are indeed extremely effective and cost effective against Space Marines, are borderline are overpowered against scouts, and are one of the many reasons Eldar generally has an advantage over SM. Rangers aren't that great against guardsmen, but if you're in any way suggesting that sniping...

Re: Eldar detection and Destructor

That's assuming full HP squads, and the Rangers not killing an alredy nearly dead squad member. It's not all about killing models with their shots, it's also about wearing single models down before actual enagements so they fall down the first, etc. etc. Generally speaking, the higher HP per model, ...

Re: Eldar detection and Destructor

... Then don't shoot the Hormagaunts, Termagants and Heretics, and target the Warriors, Raveners, Chaos Space Marines and Havocs instead. There was a time, definitely before the introduction of Raptors, when snipers had actually been considered a little too good against Chaos. If you think ranger s...

Re: Eldar detection and Destructor

I don't know, Eldar vs LA/CS or even Kommando Nob seems like a handicapped game from the start to me. Sure, Rangers are amazing and all, but being forced to buy them in certain matchups looks like a little victory already for the opposing player. Their detectors role is itself a bit contradictory, s...

Re: Ork Topic

Wow.... that looks quite broken indeed. I mean, there doesn't seem to be much you can do to prevent it. While I think it's great to be able to do this kind of creative, skillfull combos, I don't think this was intended to happen. With Sneaky Infiltrashun Kit removing energy drain from infiltration o...

Re: 1v1 Maps and the game

Siwal, while a good map (much better than most others), does exactly that. It's all about the south half of the map Late game on Siwal will almost always be focused on the top half of the map, actually, because the top 2 VPs are somewhat close together. Honestly, if any map has this kind of problem...

Re: Dealing with FC

I play FC as well as Mekboy and Warlock, so I think i might be of some help. Basically, as it's already been said, focus him down with ranged units. One important thing to remember is that he has Commander armor instead of Heavy Infantry armor, so he actually takes almost full damage (90% as opposed...

Re: 1v1 Maps and the game

Fair enough. I was just asking your opinion/giving my own on retail 1v1 maps, though, not giving a lecture on them "Imperial Inquisitor style", so no need to go "that's not true, at all" on me. IMHO , the game has some fundamental design issues, and most of the 1v1 maps do nothin...

Re: 1v1 Maps and the game

My gripes (again, this is all my humble and probably uninformed opinion): -Leaviathan Hive and Ashes of Typhon share the flaw of being not "Wide" enough for their length, so they're too frontal-combat oriented. On top of it, all the ledges and the obstacles in Levi. Hive make units like Ra...

1v1 Maps and the game

I've been wondering what's the general consensus about the quality of Retail and ELITE added 1v1 maps quality and how they affect the game. Most of my time with the game has been in Retail so I have little to no experience with the ones added in ELITE, but my personal and humble opinion is that over...

Tbh this isn't the place to insult people or to voice your opinion if you don't yet understand most aspects of the game fully. As I said there is nothing wrong with not understanding everything yet, but don't be a dick because someone has pointed out that you don't. Tell me so when I insult anyone....

Re: Ork Topic

Thanks to Torpid Inquisitor I was able to test Force Field Overcharge vs Warrior Brood's KB leaps and the Mekboy wasn't disprupted by them. I would guess the Autarch leap won't either , so my gripe is resolved, nothing to see here, move along. I can't follow this clusterfuck at all. [...] I will rep...

Re: Ork Topic

I believe caralimon is talking about the Autarch's native leap into melee combat, like how warrior broods will leap into melee and knock stuff back. In that case, it's still weapon knockback. Autarch has no access to ability knockback at all. Melee skill has nothing to do with the TYPE of knockback...

Re: Ork Topic

-.- I am NOT talking about the Autarch Leap Ability. I know she does weapon-knockback with her Leap, I'm talking about some High Melee skill units such as the Autarch that DO ability-knockback with their melee charges, as of: m - Ability knockback is a special effect which also affects retreating un...

Re: Ork Topic

Ok, here's a little think I've been thinking about, Mekboy and his Kustom Force Field. My understanding is it is a bit underwhelming in Retail as a T2 accesory upgrade at 100/25, hence why its ranged damage protection was increased from 50% to 70% and the knockback type changed from weapon to abilit...

@Dark Riku My comparison with the avatar makes as little sense as the comparison to the RazorBack armor upgrade, which was my intention Ok, here's a last try. As of 2.2 patch preview notes, Wartruk will get a decreased cost of 200/30. Let's say i buy a Wartruk. Now I have 2 choices: - Upgrade its HP...

Re: Ork Topic

Oh come on, you just can't say "hey, the RazorBack armor upgrade costs the same and gives the same HP, so the cost of Wartruk Reinforced Plating is fine". Or "yeah, it's an unnecesarry upgrade, whatever". What if your 5600 HP Avatar had an upgrade that gave it 200 HP more for tho...

Wartruk Reinforced Plating

Hey guys, i'm new here but i think I have a good suggestion to make. I was astonished when I saw the Wartruk upgrade Reinforced Plating stay at the same price than in retail, that is 100 req/30 power. The facts: Wartruk cost was increased to 220/30. It has 350 HP and a piss poor 17DPS bolter on top ...
