New Player!

Hi all,

I just discovered ELITE after someone randomly posted about it on the Retribution Steam Community Page. Total newb here and looking for a few games to get better.

I played upwards of 300 hours of Company of Heroes before moving on to Dawn of War 2, but I never really got into it, and by the time I went back to it, the MP community had kinda died off.

Heres hoping I can find a good game with you guys from time to time!

Hey,

Thanks for the greeting. I watched some of Indrid's casts as well as MaestroCasts's...uh, casts. But I'm having a really hard time finding games. I've installed the latest version 2.2 Beta 9, I believe, but I can't find any games.

I am in UTC/GMT -5, so I'm not sure that's a contributing factor.

make sure you got the hotfix for beta 9 installed too.

I do have the hotfix, I managed to play a couple the other day. I really think its just my timezone that messes with things for the most part, as it seems that when I have time to play, its the early morning for quite a few people in the UK.

i have the same issue surprise. I live PST and I rarely find 1-2 games during the week. On the weekends however ive lately seen 5-6 games up. Of varying types.

Make sure to title your games as NOOBS ONLY or something to that effect.

Suggesting that people who are bad at this game and would like to play with each other simply add each other onto their friends lists, in addition to coordinating on the steam group, etc...

I feel that this way, its easier for people to build a better sense of camaraderie rather than playing with random people who could be noobs, or noobs in disguise. Granted, I've not really run into that in Elite mod games, mostly retail.
