Where's all the TFFA + FFA Maps?

Postby crazyman64335 » Fri 13 Sep, 2013 10:41 pm

Now i know i'm in the minority here, but i'd love to see more than 4 maps. In all honesty, JOC doesn't even really count because it's such a horrible TFFA map, so that leaves 3 maps in the rotation. Calderis Refinery, White Walls, and Ashes. Now i know there were maps for TFFA and FFA but they were removed. How about bringing them back or just removing some of the subpar 1v1 maps that nobody plays on? Or even some of those HUGE 3v3 maps that people play once and realize "well never playing that map again".

Simply suggestions, i know i'm in the minority here, but 4 maps is unacceptable imo.

Waste of Space, there were other FFA maps and they got removed because they take up quite alot of MBs and the mod is becoming abit heavy, also FFA and TFFA are not played nor balanced modes, I'd rather have a smaller download size rather than a bunch of useless maps.

and maps such as
Wrazgot's Leadfoot
Tallarn Ravine
Sector 95
Mirage
Nids Never Sleep
Valhalla
Fall of Hyades
Kasyr Luiten
Return to Golgotha
Skull Masha Brackens
Swamps of Slaughter
None of those are a waste of space? i'm sure that some people would be willing to remove some of those maps to add 1 or 2 TFFA designated maps.

People are free to add their own maps and play them. Since almost no one plays TFFA I see no reason to include such maps within the mod.

Crazyman, just saying, im not wasting my time on making a map noone will prolly ever play or rather i wont make a map i will never play on.

Hence i didnt make a 1on1 map yet, because I dont play 1on1s. Anyways, u could create a TFFA map if u want, Indrid and I could teach u the basics, the rest would be up to u ofc.

Keep in mind that making a map takes some time. I'd say, ur first map takes about 1 - 2 months, so yeah if u really wanna get a new TFFA map, make one. :)

I have a normal job, working night and late shifts, meaning yes time is always a bit of problem but if u wanna make a map u should play a bit less and start working on the map whenever u can.

Good looking, yes. A good map? No, because its way too big.

I enjoy sector 95, but I seem to be alone in that.
Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!

No, you're not. It's one of the more enjoyable 1v1 maps tbh.

The map preview just scares peole off, it's really missleading.

I work 50-70 hours a week and I have a child, for some perspective. You can probably manage the time if you're genuinely interested...

fair enough, however this is going to be my first semister, and i'm also getting a job, so since i'm just testing the waters for now i think i'll have to wait until the winter semister. Just so i'm not skipping homework making tffa maps :P

School + job can be tough but still, if you enjoy fiddling with maps you should have enough waking hours for it. I must say I skipped half of university myself so I had scheißetons of spare time back then, just not recently...
