I like it too but there's a texture bug with the helmet that I can't seem to fix. However the headdress part is fine so re-purposed it for this Black Legion Sorcerer.

Any possibility that the Iron Warrior Sorc can get chains instead of a loincloth?
Yes there is, good idea.

IMHO the arm's skin tone and the face skin tone should be the same, and ATM the face skin is more pale than the arms' one
Good point - textures aren't my area though so anyone who wants to fix things like that is free to have a go at it once the downloads are up.

This first one is cool, but the second one is far more in theme with the Iron Warriors.

I will admit that's true it does feel more chaotic. What do you mean texture bug? Do you mean it stays pink? Or that the helmet is a brighter color than it should be? Because I had trouble with both, but fixed the first problem.

I just realized how...
off the Iron Warrior helmet looks. Is there any possibility that the texturing is going to be redone so it's less dark? From a distance I thought there wasn't anything there, and it was literally just a black hole.

@Sterling.
Wanted to ask if its okey to you if I use/play around with your alternate ( Catachan? ) Inquisitor model for a side project of mine?

Might just be the lighting in the model viewer. Sometimes hard to thell how it actually looks ingame.
If its really too dark, I can adjust it to better meet the Armour tint if Sterling is okey with it.

About the colors;
Iron Warriors are painted both darkgrey like yours (i guess are the same colors as in the game painter) or much brighter (but darker pauldrons).
These are both valid solutions, i guess, but I suggest the second just to make stand out more and distinguish them from the Black Legion.

Yeah go for it Orkfaeller, always good to see what you can come up with.
For those asking about the Iron Warriors colours, it's due to the model editor only displaying a basic texture with no lighting applied. The colour they are set to is exactly the same as the one the Iron Warriors colour scheme in the army painter - "Iron" I believe.

Yeah, the lighting in the modelviewer is very basic.
It doesnt show metallic effects for example.
You got to see it ingame first to judge it.

Not quite. Model Editor uses all textures you set to render a model. It looks different because I messed up lighting a little bit. Basically there is wrong data type used in vertex declaration for normal component (if that makes any sense to you

), so all the lighting appears wrong.
That's how it looks in my super secret not yet released version:

Haha yeah that should probably have read "me not knowing how to make model editor apply lighting effects etc" - regardless the image Santos has just posted shows what they look like in game.
Yeah that looks great Orkfaeller, any idea how that Plague Knife is coming along?

Gotta ask one of them.

This is the latest version AFAIK.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6RDoPr2MDlSZFFRX1BINzRIdE0/editThough I haven't had the chance to see it in game yet. With the new UVWs however the texture shouldn't stretch that much anymore. Thanks Arbitor for that.

Are there any yet missing maps I should add ( normals, or what ever ) ?

I think normal and oclusion maps aren't assigned and there is no reason to add dirt map imo. So once the model uses all the textures in the archive it should be ready to go.

for all the updated looks that were seeing. I have yet to figure out how to get the level 60 warboss armor from retail. I think the truck shoulder pads are awful since they have no actual fire effects coming out of them. Anyone know how to revert my warboss to retail level 60 epic gear?

Possibly, when I return to IG after releasing Chaos and looking at Harlequin for Elder.
If I can find a way to differentiate them from Krieg as they look pretty similar will try to release a smaller pack along with Orkfaellers Mordian Iron Guard.

@Santos how do I get model editor to display models like you did with the Sorcerer? Had a look through the strings but couldn't figure it out. Cheers

the biggest difference really seems to be colour scheme, which is up to the player. using the cadian hats with krieg masks might work though.

Well, Krieg takes inspiration from french and german WWI uniforms, while the Steel Legion burrows mostly from WWII Fallschirmjäger, so the differences are definatly there.
The biggest ones would be that Steel Legion has coats that only go to their knees instead of trench coats, helmets without a rim for neck protection and their mask's air filter is on their chest, not on their belly or back.
Differences on the mask itself and the boots could propably be done via fresh textures, but the other stuff would need altered models, imho, with the coat beeing propably the hardest thing to do.

nah, you can just alpha out the bottom or chop it off in max. i'm not entirely sure how simple removing something that's got a uvw map on it is, i've had trouble with it in the past but that was with an uncollapsed stack, but it is doable. the mask would be a little bit harder, as you'd have to unwarp a box, get the hose going to the right place, and then rig it but that's less than an hours work for someone who knows the process.

Sadly, its not that easy. The shape of the Krieg trenchcoat makes this impossible, without looking like ass, imho.

But I think strling got his hands on a fan made Krieg Pack, maybe those could be adjusted easierly.
Edit:
The Chosen Plague Marine head textures -

well it'll require max then. legs and bottom of the coat will have to go and standard guard legs put on.

Yeah that should be fairly simple but regardless I doubt we can use this model due to it being from a paid DLC pack... if that's still a thing...

i highly, highly doubt we'd see any sort of legal action, even a cease and desist. what matters is whether or not any one who matters cares.

Which is why I continue to wonder why Caeltos doesn't use the Vanilla Ice voice for BC or FC and Diomedes for the remainder. He assigned all the Cyrus lines to the vindicare assassin, after all.
