A bit less damage and/or range and maybe without the uh Scorch ability.

IMHO the Banewolf is a bit too exotic and I think the Inquistor deserves her exclusive unit.

Similar situation to the Venerable Dreadnought of the Techmarine in comparision to the vanilla Dread.

True on the exotic part. I can't imagine bane wolves being very common use, at least not in comparison to the hellhound. One thing that has confused me though is why the Banewolf is considered effective only against Light Infantry - in the table top, isn't it effective versus heavy infantry as well because of the poison damage? I know I've seen table top batreps and those things decimate space marines, yet it only has flame pvp damage in game (so only 75% dmg translate to Heavy Infantry).

The Changes I would propose then would be as follows:

HellHound:
HP and Speed - same as the banewolf. Damage type would be flame pvp, but range of the flamer would be larger than banewolf (as is the case with the table top - 12" extra). Give it the same ability as the banewolf, but instead of slowing the unit, it should do courage damage similar to how we have Purgation squad doing something similar with their flamers. And perhaps less damage as well. This vehicle is available to all commanders.

Banewolf:
Keep everything the same, but change the damage type to something that also makes it effective versus Heavy Infantry, as is the case with the table top. It'll make it more attractive, and possibly worth that 200 red prerequisite that we have currently. And all the more reason for opposing armies to consider taking it down ASAP. Only available to the Inquis as a drop.

The Banewolf is already effective against any infantry thanks to his abilities. And his damage type is good enough vs HI.

Long range Flamer on a tank would be ridiculous, especially in T2. Why would we add a hellhound whereas we can just give the banewolf to everyone?

i'd rather the banewolf did non flame damage and applied a dot or something instead so it was worse at bashing gens; especially if a hellhound was going to be added.

SHOULD the Hellhound be added someday, I DEMAND that it blows up on death torching the ground around it.
