But I think the posted conversion is a bit too close to the actual GreyKnights. If you dont look at the feet he just looks like an Inquisiton scaled GK model.

Well if you think of the Knights (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Knights) the idea of implementing a Dreadknights isn't that wrong for Grey Knights. But yes its controversial.

Oh, I like the Knights, love them in fact, but they are basicly just a poor-man's titan.

- but the DreadKnight is pretty much a Dreadnought.

But better.

In pretty much every way.

Based on technology // designs we've never seen anything like it befor.

Dreads were allways the best, and biggest motherf**kers the Space Marines had. Walking miniature versions of the golden throne, kept for the most honorable the Empire had to offer. You not only had to be a veteran of centuries, you also had to "earn" the "honour" by "dieing" an incredible badass death,

Now turns out theres a Powerlifter you can just hop into with motorics so superior and advanced, its basicly an Eldar Wraithlord.
In the meanwhile Dreadnoughts who have their controlls literally pluged into their open brains get a box with arms so unwieldy that they cant do ANYTHING without a techmarine.

We had similar machines befor, the Pentient Engine or Inquisitor Karamasow's Throne ( or in extend, the Knights). But those were all based on the established Titan, Dreadnought and Sentinel designs, and fittet into the bigger picture.

With the introduction of the Dreadknight the image of the Imperiums technological possibilities ( and its asthetics ) got screwed, bigtime.

The Dreadknight concept itself is a bit facepalm and I kind of wish it didn't exist, although the unit might fit well into Elite right now and I'd be curious to implement it if we got the assets.

As for templates, ugh... Wraithlord animations will probably look a bit ridiculous on a beefier machine, the attacks might work out but the legs/gait...

Terminator animations are totally inappropriate for a walker. You can't make a walker fidget like that and the jogging animation makes me cringe-lul when I imagine it.

A big unit like that is going to need custom animations, I don't think there's a way around it.

Taxi Johns is your man, hes the BlueTounge interavtive guy and done moddling on Starship troopers in Auzzieland, works a lot with MaYa and doing some advertising and commercial stuff at the mo. He bumbed on a few times about joining the team and Ive mentioned doing something as a patroit for the game and to etch his name in the halls of glory. You would need to apoligise though for blocking him id imagine :D

while we're on the subject of grey knights and new units, is there anything else that could be pulled from other factions to supplement current issues they have, like a lack of ranged suppression, and fit in without breaking fluff even more while still being interesting? a really simple solution to suppression, ranged av would be an inducted heavy weapons team for example but that's boring.

Not commenting on the balancing, dont know GK good enough but

since they're all psychers, wouldnt the easiest thing to do, giving them well a supressing psychig ability?

Like the Farseer, psystorm or mind-meld stuff ( dont know the actual names ).

Too complex decisions have to be made. I'm starting with Vindicare Assassin for the warmup. It's a 2-nights job. I've picked up a perfect proxy already - SM Scout comon armor.

A friend of mine used to be on her Johns, he worked with BlueTounge Interactive in Australia and done the moddling work on the Arachnids, well he worked with his friend who was a lead designer with BT. He sent has been talking to blessed spartan a few times and he recommended he send Caeltos a message which he didn but got no reply.

Hes doing some paid work at the minute doing a McDonalds commercial but at some stage i think ill coax him into dooing some Portraits or maybe a new character
. I was asking him to do a V.A. a few days ago but he said he busy. If he does contact Caeltos again id suggest he reply to him this time as this guy knows his shit!.

Well, personally I get occasional random friend requests which I generally ignore unless I have an idea what it might be about, and I'm sure Caeltos gets (a lot) more. Might be better to contact on the forum or in the chat room first.

Yeah, please pop a message pre- before you add me on steam. I get like million friend request everyday, and I don't know even 90% of the people. And even if I add them, they don't say anything.

Forums all the way when you want to message someone, or all those stuff.
