Dawn of War Codex

Ok now relic is paying attention to dawn of war again i want to see some new new's on some dawn of war related stuff,games and support etc. I think company of heroes was fun and while im not investing time into it i was happy to see it do well despite feeling it felt like company of heroes 1.5 instead of 2.0.

1st they need to listen to the elite mod community and fix the host system allowing us to play multiply games in a row instead of re-hosting every game. Also allow for obs to work and make sure the servers are spot on and fix these problems people are having with drops bugs and ever crap.

I am fairly happy with the servers no lag is great, now and again i get catch up lag but not enough for me to moan (on 1 occasion i had half my army killed due to the game stopping for 20 secs and when it caught up half my army had walked into 3 armies...) but there are still to many bugs and time wasting for me to fully say great job.

Now i would like some news on some dawn of war games. Dawn of war 3 is the thing we are want but IL be happy to see another project like what eternal crusade is looking like. While my hope is the army sizes of the original dawn of wars with the loot and multiplayer of dawn of war 2 i would actually like a dawn of war game like the star wars game empire at war.

The reason simple set the game in a sector of the dawn of war universe like ss and allow us to conquer it like that game but with fleet battles and if possible expand from that sector into near by ones. This would allow u to be a part of the tau expansion, a raiding party of dark eldar or a war-band of chaos etc. U could have galaxy map similar to empire at war but have better and larger fleet battle's and land battle's. look at the apocalypse mod for ss the battle's are crazy with no pop on titans (if u want) super weapons that can take down titans and armies that make dawn of war 2's small combat engagements look can of meh. Ofc the ss mod isn't balanced but its still a step in the right direction of being what the dawn of war universe should be like the sm shooter wasn't bad but it lacked vehicles and the many factions.

anyway if u have news,ideas or simply want to share what u want go for it.

I want them to change the layout on their new forums. Maybe it's just me after frequenting this forum for a while now but white text + black background is an eyesore.

what? Go back to your rl you normal person. Black text on white background burns my eyes, I had to get a youtube app just to stop it from doing that. :\

It's really pleasant on a phone, but to be fair anything is more pleasant than what they have right now. You can even go to the categories that aren't selectable on a PC.

No, not apocalyptic battles, all sense of control is gone. I would like the unit sizes to be a little larger and bring back a little bit of base building perhaps, but not SC level of base building Apocalyptic battles are only good for some fun, not constant play.

It depends imo, in large scale games strategy has a bigger impact while tactics are less, they are both good on their own, for the warhammer 40k franchise Final liberation is an example although it's turn-based.

For a large scale RTS see supreme commander 1 or sins of solar empire.

I like Dow2 particularly for the lack of base building personally. It lets me focus on the combat swhich is what it's really all about imo.

Plus I'd argue that sup com (while incredibly awesome) is less about strategy and more about throwing endless waves at the enemy with some super units mixed in
