A couple IG ideas

I was thinking this the other day, but I'm not saying it's 100% necessary for IG, just a bit more fluff/codex wise.Here are my suggestions:
a) Leman Russes could change their sponsors to Multi-Meltas/Flamers (too OP?) or their turret to a Punisher Cannon for anti-infantry.
b) Sentinels could get an Autocannon as an upgrade. (I'm not saying Multi-Melta or Plasma Cannon, since that is too OP)
I dont think the modeling is a huge problem, since all these already exist in the game, they just have to be combined.

So, what do you think about this, could it help or is it plain pointless?

But doesn't the missile launcher already have similar functionality as an autocannon? AOE vs infantry & soft AV? If an autocannon is given, it may just outshine the missile launcher...

But the Frag Missiles travel very slowly and it is pretty hard to hit with them, unless they are not moving. I don't argue that it could outshine the Missile Launcher, but an Autocannon does far less damage to vehicles than a Krak missile.

Even if those Krak are slow, He also has AV missiles.-Why autocannon ?
Close range tank ? No sorry i don't think it would be even useful since u would need to close in.

Multi-melta senti would be kinda useless since senti is quite fragile in t2. Autocannon sent just sounds plainly OP (also don't think sent AV missiles do more dps than any autocannon in the game).
Leman already has anti inf. option with the executioner or just keeping it vanilla. Melta sponsons sound kinda questionable as Leman is already the best normal tank versus other tanks and vanquisher cannon has crazy long range. With melta sponsons you wouldn't even want to get close to it.

T2 upgrade for sentinel, it's called Sentinel Prime. The is where the Sentinel becomes a transformer, essentially making it a walker with a giant sword, but he's also able to switch in and out between the two forms.
There would be an ability called 'The touch' where as soon as he hits a generator every generator on the enemy teams dies instantly. When this happens there has to be a recording of "The touch" by Stan Bush playing to spread fear in the enemy team.
I think that would be pretty cool

Lemon Ruse upgrade stack is full, so it's not getting anything new. i think sent auto cannon would probably end up being OP as well. i do like variety though.

I'd go for "Go Go Power Sentinels" and two Sent's can form a gun, three can form a powerful badger, and form are a world wonder which, once established, wins the game.
Also if you have only one you can employ the Commie to drive it, and then when you execute a GM squad with the Sent's auto-cannon, the buff is applied globally, and not only to your units but to your allied units. Eldar be like "shiiiiiet, this Commie is maad!"

And after all that, the Sentinel could go in Super Saiyan mode or something, you know, over 9000 HP and shit

PS: Variety is the spice of life so, you know, not everything has to be thought only from a balance perspective, but also from adding to the game more options and builts (not insanly op obviously).

No... RL projectile speed is slow at best. A-cannon would be deal less damage but the projectile speed is high as all A-Cannons. As for the rate of fire, I think the reate could be same with IG HwT with A-cannon.

Reduced speed for a unit which is low health, takes all damage, and is snared by snaring AV - is a big no no. If some upgrade reduces it's speed, it should also change it's armor type to vehicle, or just give it a significant hp boost.

I do like a thought of auto-cannon sententials but with balance. Okay maybe not the speed reduction but there must be some risk in giving sententials something that will really hurt. The missile launcher hurts but the flight time is avoidable. The auto-cannon would cause damage everywhere with out too much micro (i.e. no switching missile types) especially if the sententials are walking around in packs.

Well, I believe that the game needs to be developed not only from a strict balance perspective, but also making it more fun and adding variety for the player to experiment with.
Of course it has to be balanced out, but not restrict the changes to only what seems "balanced" at first glance. That's the purpose of a mod anyway, adding more variety to a game. That's my own opinion of course.

That sounds more like the philosophy of the Codex Edition Mod.
Maybe give that a spin? I personally have fun playing that sometimes.

I prefer the cautios approach in implementing new things to the mod as balancing it out can be quite difficult and all the added stuff has not yet been completely balanced out. And yes I do believe that balance should be considered before just adding shit to the mod.

This mod is the only thing that has kept some of the best dow players playing this game not something else. The reason for this is that balance always comes first. This mod has kept the elite playerbase alive dude
You can have your own opinion on what the mod
should be, but this one revolves around keeping the game fair. You kill that and you lose the playerbase that counts
