New voices in 2.3.1 ?

If i understand right - Elite mod creators learned (or just had the opportunity) to implant new voices to units. So i have few questions:

1. Is that true?
2. What voices you can exactly implant? I mean, it will be taken from vDoW2 and DoW2:CR or there is possibility to take it from another sources, like DoW1? If so, there will be no borders to create new faction like Dark Eldar.
3. Should we wait for some new voices in 2.3.1 (for Raptors, Chaos Terminators, Phobos and bunch of other stuff) ?

1. Yes

2. Any voices, although none that we could get sued for. So only original voices and lines from DoW2. Not sure how many 'new slots' there are for voices, though. There isn't unlimited space, but I'm not sure how limited the space is. Hakon would have to give more details there.

3. Only Raptors for now, afaik. edit: oh, and a previously unused voice line for the new Chimera ability.

have you got any volunteers for voice actors for new voices yet? Maybe some guys in the ELITE team can give it a shot, i mean if Larrian studios can voice act part of their own games, you could always try voicing your own mod. it would be a laugh either way, would be hilarious to hear a grey knight say "Hey guys indrid here!"

We already have a bunch of voice lines being worked on by Jazz Sandwich (he did the Raptors I think) and Thomas the Tankengine apparently, and there are already a bunch of lines finished, which Caeltos played on stream at some point. I think the full voice sets aren't done yet, so we're waiting until they are to add them.

I did volunteer for doing them.
I did create an entire thread for that, the exact same day the news came out that we can do that.
I have gear, people and time.
I live near the third biggest f***ing recording studio in Europe, WHERE I WORKED.

But no answers whatsoever.

But now I know that other people get the job.

Screw you, guys. Seriously.

It was always more of a technical issue of implementing it, and it was never sure if we would ever accomplish of adding new voice-lines. Keep it in mind that Jazz doesn't just do DOW2 related stuff, and actually modifies DoW1 and does everything abit in one-swoop type of thing. So we had to experiment and verify the possibility when the solution was find.

I actually got most of the Raptor Files 2013-08-09 , and through-out the entire duration up until the possibility of being able to implement them, they were just unuseable. It doesn't feel right trying to ask people to contribute and do something that is not feasible to actually implement.

If you still want to contribute, that's awesome. At least now it's alot more set-in-stone and verified. Raptors being an evident of the possibility.

Thank u for taking the time to add new voices adds a bit or extra fun and enjoyment but i think a lot of people dont understand how difficult and time consuming modding can be so take your time. The raptor voice lines are great love the line from Horus "The day will not save them, and we own the night" however think they sound a bit much like plague marines but still a nice touch. Would like chaos terms to have new voices in the future:p

What caeltos said, it was highly uncertain there could be any voices added at all. That is until Garrick graced us with his presence and wisdom. So if you got the time/skills/equipment to do it that is indeed awesome, and there are lots of units that could use them I'm sure.

Going to throw a spanner in the works here but since this thread is open to the public then I would love it if I could give it a shot. Not sure how at the moment, but I suppose I can give something a shot and present the Inquisition something to dissect. I have been told I am good at accents, if that is any condolence. :P

How can I participate on the new voice line effort?

If it means getting the GK (among other new units) their own voices at last then I'll gladly purchase a high quality microphone and some professional sound software myself. I'll gladly collaborate with you people on the scripts myself, having done so on a DoW I machima project from back in the day.

Who do I need to message?
How would he prefer to be contacted?
What would I need?
Where can I find documentation on the technique?
When could we start?

In fact, this question is so important to me that I'll start a general thread about it.
