So my PC finally gave up today on me. I was watching a stream, had a youtube podcast in the background, then I booted up a game - and wam. The entire PC froze, and the background started doing the loop of saying something. So, I was forced to do a hard reboot. However, after that - my monitor is now stuck on power-saving mode whenever I boot up the PC.

I tried changing monitors (my PC only accepts HDMI/DPI-D connections). But alas, to no effect. Has my computer completely just decided to give up on life? I don't even get up the BIOS anymore. And it seems like my keyboard isn't even working upon PC boot. However, when I start up the PC, I can hear everything run fine. The fans are running, no weird beeps or tick sounds to indiciate a failure. Everything points to it's all ay-okay.

So, what exactly happend, and how do I resolve this? It doesn't seem to be related to the monitor, and it seems to be something wrong within the PC. I'm currently looking at buying a new PC, but that's going to suck, since I HATE waiting, so I'm more into looking for a pre-built PC that can handle most games perfectly fine, and all that jazz.

So assuming a new PC is required, do you think these are sufficient?

I know it's in swedish, but I'm sort of just a desperate man that needs to get back into the game again. So I'm looking for a retail store in my hometown so I can just buy the damn crap and start from over.

If the system is not POSTing it's usually a memory issue. Most motherboards will have status lights on them at least, which turn off in sequence. e.g. the status light near the RAM will still be on if the RAM is the problem. But it depends what kind of PC you have.

Try re-seating the RAM or only using one module. Remember to turn off the PSU before you root around.

Those PCs you linked are not great for gaming to say the least. The first would be okay if you put a new video card in, if it could accomodate it. The second is a SFF PC not meant for gaming at all.

Check out komplett.se. I used their UK site many years ago for parts, but it doesn't exist any more. They do gaming PCs. I've no idea about Swedish pricing or your budget but their "Gamer" line seems to have similar pricing systems to what you linked, and can actually run games with a GTX 960.

Problem is that komplett doesn't have any retail store here where I live, which means I'll have to wait for a week or two. I'd use that website if I had a temporarily functioning PC. Hench, why I'm looking at other retail stores for a quick-fix solution.

Also, before you touch the RAM, ground yourself properly (I can not stress this enough) as RAM is extremely sensitive to charges. Have you ruled out the GPU already?
