Dawn of War Codex

So, i got this game in the recent winter sale, really like it. Today i found out about this mod and it seems to be very popular, so my question is: are there more players playing this mod than vanilla retribution ? I'm asking this to see if i should skip learning vanilla retribution MP and stick with this mod instead. Thank you

There is no real evidence of which one has more people on it.
But the mod is way better for PvP purposes. Better balanced, less bugs, patches, etc.
So I would just start out in the mod if I where you.

I wouldn't bother with vanilla - the Elite mod team puts a lot of effort into balancing the game and providing somewhat regular patches, compared with vanilla which was mostly abandoned ages ago.

Also, there is a newb group that plays regularly. You should consider playing with them to make the learning curve a little less steep.
