Dawn of War Codex

Good day gents,

I rarely pitch in, but I thought I would do so this time.

I remember seeing quite some interest in new voice lines for the units unique to Elite Mod. Now, I have had some contact with a (soon to be professional) voice actor that has done voices for several entities from the Warhammer 40k universe, like Chaos Terminators for instance. He has done these voices of his own volition, and he has also worked with modders from the vanilla DOW modding scene, so he might be willing to provide voices for Elite's new units.

Some of you might know him or might have had contact with him before, but I thought I would post it just to be sure.

Seen a few links to my Warhammer ramblings kicking around these forums, I hope the general opinion is a positive one =D. I'm informed that you gents might actually like some voice work done for some units. Well, figured I might as well introduce myself given the interest in my own work thats been shown. I do indeed love me some Dawn of War 2 and I'd be happy to lend my efforts to you guys if you would have me =)

Hello and welcome to elite community! I have seen most of your work on the warhammer stuff and i quite enjoyed them! We would love to have ya!

I understand there has been much discussion about adding new voices and such, and I had the pleasure of burning through a few matches against the AI on the mod recently. The new Raptor voices are pretty cool and the portrait art work (which I assume is custom?) is top notch. If I might ask, what sort of plans do you guys have regarding voice work and for whom?

Caeltos would probably be able to give you a better idea of what we're looking for in terms of voice acting, but there are still quite a few units within the game that just use placeholder stuff. Most of GK, Flash Gitz, Painboy, Dark Reapers, Fire Dragons, others I'm probably forgetting. We'd love to have any help you're willing to give

Well if you guys can write the scripts I'll do what I can with the voice =). You probably have a better idea on how to edit them to make them fit within the game proper too so I'd probably leave it to you guys to mess with them lol. Should I add some folks or be added to some kind of chat away from the forums so its a bit easier to talk about it some more?

I.LOVE.THE.EVERSOR.ASSASSIN one you did.

I actually worked on the Eversor Assassin whilst listening to the voice work - it was quite inspiring, and I think it was one of the more fun kit that I made up for a commander. It really captured the insanity of the Eversor Assassin, and the moments in the video where you truely capture the essence of being completely drug-juiced killers.

I also found the "Damn intestines won't stay in" pretty hilarious, but somewhat even fitting. I'd love to use that for when he is low on health, or upon death.

Ya, most of the non-vanilla artwork is done by a guy named Kilgarn.

If we had your voice work to complement his art it would be a dream.

EDIT - I listened to some of the voiceover recordings on your channel and think they are superb - I thought the two assassins were particularly amazing.

I am satisfyed. I support whatever you guys will do.

It's been on my to-do, but I had to get a new PC, and it resulted in my work being scrapped so I've had to restart from scratch. It's still a unit/commander that I've been wanting to introduce for quite some time. Now it's even a better time, since we can even have a non-placeholder audio for it, and can truely capture the feel of the unit/commander.

I actually don't use skype, but PM me your steam ID, and we in the team can maybe figure something out.
