Newbie Launch Problem

Hey guys,
I just downloaded and installed the mod, but when I try to launch it nothing happens. Could somebody please give me some pointers?!

did you install 2.1 full or 2.2 beta 9 and the beta 9 hotfix?
are you using the shortcut provided/your own with the correct startup options?
presumably you can play ret fine?

hi, I installed 2.2 beta and the latest hotfix. I am using the shortcut provided. And yes, I was able to play retail fine until I followed the guide on the website to change it over so it would launch elite mod instead of retail. Now neither work.

verify the integrity of the game cache.
also, is steam on the same drive as the game?

The Steam library method shows "-modname elite" but the module name for Elite beta builds is "elite_beta".
