Heretics Animations - or lack thereof

I know it may be a really minor thing to others but its really something that bothers me since day-one ( of chaos rising ), and I really hope something/anything could be done to "fix" it, some day.
Two cases;
Grenadelauncher Heretics:
I know Grenadelauncher Heretics are supposed to suck in melee, but the guys with the autoguns cant even attack in melee.
They will just stand there idle when forced into melee combat, or unload their autoguns at close range if not tied up directly.
Funnily enough the Grenadelauncher Heretics themselves dont have that problem; those guys will fight back, thrusting their unwieldy weapons - but the guys with the bayonets on their guns will just stand there and wait to get killed.
Its not like they dont have melee animations, you can see them using them when building a shrine ( I guess GL and Autogun Heretics use the same animations anyway ).
I'm not even asking for them to do any real damage in melee, I'd just like to see them atleast act as if they put up a fight.
Melee Heretics:
This one bothers me alot more actually.
While Autogun Heretics cant fight in melee eventhough they got melee animations,
Melee Heretics will fight in ranged combat eventhough they dont have fireing animations.
No matter if they stand in the open, behind cover, or charging the enemy; you'll see pistol fire against nearby enemys, while all the heretics' weapons are "aimed" at the floor.
It, looks, bad. Really, REALLY bad.
Since we dont have animations ( unless they are there, and relic just forgot to apply them ), would it be possible to take away their ability to fire their pistols and buff the Champions pistol in return? ( Its not like Melee Heretics do any noticable damage to begin with )
Or make them use invisible projectiles?
