My father was alway a Harley guy and my uncle was a Kawasaki man. They don't get along much.

My father is a Harley man as well.. usually went riding with his friends from Singapore to Thailand and then back. Though the last time he did so he had an accident which wasn't that serious but it made both my mother and his mother deny him any more riding trips.

Nah, just new brake pads and discs. Will prolly have to do spark plugs, coils and cat soon too (takes long time to start), just hoping the it's not worn apex seals or lost compressions. :)

Could put in a decat if/when the cat goes for "modding" ;P

You barbarians, cars aren't for crashing into things. :(

I actually resent american car related movies for that reason, they just have to destroy everything (yes, I'm looking at you fast & furious, especially you tokyo drifto).

so far off from getting my own vehicle because of student debt - will need to get a full time job before I start thinking of it, and leasing no less (the lulz for debt)

But the dream is a BMW Z4. Has been my dream car for years ):

Don't buy a beamer unless it's M-series (which no1 can afford) or you are ready to modify it yourself. Afaik Z4 doesn't even come with an lsd, and what's the point of a rwd sports car without one. :[
Also bmw/merc/audi are expensive to insure and repair, and second hand ones break down a lot. My first car was a bmw (only 70k km in it) and after 2 months of owning it I ended up having to replace the wobbler shaft and distributor belt (or w.e it's called in english), neither of which I could do myself and the repairs cost me 3k€.

If you want a 2 seater rwd convertible get a Honda s2000. :]

No they don't come with the LSD but I'm willing to take the hit - I'll just have to pray I never get into the situation where lacking the LSD makes all the difference between me getting out of an accident :P. But I don't think it's that big of a deal breaker.

The real clincher, as you're sort of teetering on with that last comment about insurance, is the price - hence why it's the dream! Though I am surprised to hear about having to replace the parts so quickly - with limited experience from others who've owned beamer's, they've not really had a problem like that.

Also, I'd never buy a Honda s2000 - don't get me wrong, Honda's are great cars and they're great for reliability, but I don't like the shape of the s2000. If we're talking anything sporty in the Honda line, I'd probably only start considering fair game if we're talking the NSX (funny enough, the NSX is under the Acura brand name here in Canada). But at that price range, we're pretty much changing the ball game all together here and we might have to start looking at some other cars.

So for now, the dream still stands as a Z4. It's a dream, but not super unattainable (i.e it'll only cost me one leg and an arm instead of 2 compared to say a SLS AMG). Plus, one of the deciding factors was also sitting inside of a Z4 back at the last auto-show. It was love. I just hope the guys sitting in the seat after me didn't notice the giant stain because I'm pretty sure ...

Meaning you never mean to take a corner at high speeds/revs with it and that it's for looks only? And if it is you can't even impress your friends with some 360s or drifts.
Sorry about that, for me not having lsd in my bmw was a real fun killer and made the rwd kinda redundant ;). I would've probably gone for s2000 if I didn't find the rotary engine strangely fascinating. NSX on the other hand is far more hardcore and less fun with it's mid engine and price.

Anyway gl fulfilling that dream. :]

High corners at high speeds on most Canadian roads = gg no re on life. Unless you're in the city, in which case that's not even an option :p.

So yeah, it'd have to be mostly for the looks.

Tell that to Michael Bay and Transformers.

If it can conceivably be used to crash into things and/or explode, Hollywood will make it happen.

you're staying up late to get lucky; drifting just helps you get lucky because it impresses the girl.

I have a 2011 Subaru WRX : D

unfortunately I have no funds to do any sort of modifications to it...yet. I'm thinking after all of schooling I'll get a new intake, ECU tune, bigger/better turbine maybe and bigger brakes. All money dependent hahaha

Ugh 2011 second hand models cost 45-55k€ out here, no wonder you have no funds left. Just don't dare to try tell me how your dccd allows you to change the drive ratio of front and rear wheels... (it doesn't). ;)

I got a great deal for it since I went to this place where mostly retired folk live. The dealership didn't post it on a website and old people didn't want it so they sold it low. Still though, wrecked my wallet.

I seriously want to track day it after I do some stuff to it. Gas prices in Seattle (though Europe is probably a lot worse) are not helping me any though.
