Ideas for Eversor Assassin

Since Nihkel is doing his part creating an Eversor Assassin model here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=799&start=20 I thought It could be interesting to chat about its cappabilities.

I think he would be a good addition to the Imperial Guard army. An Eversor is a shredder machine and Grey Knights have already many melee specialists, while the Imperial Guard has only the Catachans and the Ogryns. He would be a better addition for a Sister of battle army, but I don't see anyone working on that.

He should be tough enough to handle small encounters, or bigger ones with support. I compare him a bit to the Space marine Librarian, with commander armor, melee skill 70 and 600 or 650 health, with the same speed than the Vindicare 5.5.

The neuro-gauntlet should be a power melee that made him good to take care of enemy commanders, if not killing them, at least making them think twice. Again, something similar to the SP librarian could be handy, like 95 dph 70 dps or so.

The needle-pistol should work like an enhanced bolt pistol, about 40 dmh, 28 dps piercing and should have a special ability for the needle combi-weapon.

Special abilities that he could have, perhaps through different upgrades:

Combat Drugs: increase the Eversor's speed by 1 or 1.5 and takes 20% less damage. His melee attacks deal splash damage (about 15 melee energy) for the duration (about 10 -15 seconds).

Hiper-Toxic Needle: aimed ability that makes him shoot the needle pistol of his weapon. Single shot with high plasma damage, or even plasma cannon damage (about 160 dph) that envenoms the target, dealing flame damage over time (not sure about this one).

Bio-Fusion: when the Eversor dies, he explodes dealing damage and knocking all units (friendly and foe) around him, I'll take the Plague marines as base for this, about 80 piercing damage.

I would like to see it as a new leader for Grey Knights.

It's an assassins, not a real leader, but all the other factions have already similar commanders and it quite make sense in the context of small scale battle.

He's already finished in my documents, and has been for over a year or so.

Ow such a tease.

...is he T3 by any chance? If he ever comes round we might see a GK T3 with something other than Termies and LR?

Well, it feels like we'll have to put the Dreadknight on hold, because we haven't heard anything about that for about ~6 months now, but it's understandable with being a father now I guess.

Regardless, may need to improvise and reconfigure and re-iterate the whole concept of the unit.

I'd rather see a Dreadknight than an Eversor Assassin as a T3 addition. Furthermore the IG needs a Subcommander first and the Eversor would be perfect.

Edit: didn't see Caeltos post above (damn you Tapatalk)

I thought he would be T2 like the Vindicare. T3? wow, must be a real slaughterer then.

This is a great idea, your suggested design is actually really good imo. So I cant fault you butttttt....

But I (still) want Culexus waahhhh

I remember what you said about the Culexus last time I suggested it, but I'd like to point out that he could be designed to fulfil exactly the same role and imo has more scope for design ability-wise.

The Eversor would be a straight up fighter that explodes on death (nice!), but Culexus could be dps, anti-melee, crowd control (with snaring etc), debuffer, or lots of things, both direct and indirect. It would also make sense if he had an energy-absorption measure, like grey knights do a lot. Ideally I'd prefer it as an IG addition because right now that roster needs help imo, in a debuff capacity with anti-melee and area denial overlap, for instance with abilities that snare/suppress/stun/slow enemies. Perhaps he could upgrade into dealing more damage too ('Open Animus Speculum' or whatever). Or just be designed to have good dps to start with.

Also has Aegis suit (possible infiltration? damage resistance? lowers enemy dps?), force matrix (AoE damage, after using previous ability to absorb enemy energy and charge the matrix?) and Psyk-Out grenades. Possibilities are endless.

I think its cooler too. Just my two cents

I'm not a big fan of suggesting doing or not doing something because of fluff, but I'd still point out that seeing bio-bomb on angry steroids in position of army leader is pretty weird :)

Uhmmm, I'm not sure who started talking about an Eversor as leader, I never mentioned that. If its because of his Commander armor, its just because the Vindicare is too fragile in my opinion and Infantry armor would do no good.

Seeing as he's a one-man tank we could probs give him HI at the least

I said at the least, I'd suggest commander armour.

I suggest the same for the existing Vindicare Assassin. More than once I got him killed in a matter of seconds and in cover.
