SM tac squad damage distribution

We all know what happens: You've forced off the SM tacs and they escape with 3 or 2 models on 30 hp between them.

My question, gentle readers, is simply this: why is it so hard to kill tactical models?

For the same reasons tics escape with 8 models with 80 hp.

And for the same reason you lose a tac model on ~< 700hp.
