Hans working on this portrait since forever. I don`t deny Hans work but your portraits are way better and fits better in DOW atmosphere so I personally want you to do these portraits.

In the meantime, I got green light to work on Dark Reaper and Fire Dragon and also rework Flashgitz and Doom too ^^ Hopefully I'll be able to them all next month :3

Hello everyone, I understand Kilgarn has been doing an outstanding job on all the portraits and will be reworking the other portraits (I love the idea). However, since I was stopped by major projects and assignments to complete, I was not able to commit to the portraits. I have officially finished school and even went ahead and did a Dark Reaper portrait before reading that the portraits will be redone but will post it anyways

You can never have too many portraits.

My first thought - Kilgarn changed his style?
My first impression - Is that banshee?
Your job looks amazing but I can't see a dark reaper in this guy =)

I do agree that the traditional Dark Reaper is more of the skull shaped head , however I worked from the Elite Mod in-aame Dark Reaper Exarch model.

Whoa, nice evolving in style Hans oO :3
I think I'll need to come up with a cool Dark Reaper/Fire Dragon in response

Can somebody buy me time ? XD
I'd need +24h/day and I'd be good

Nothing like a friendly competition to get the creative fluids working!

Loving the fire dragon but the dark reaper does seem more like a banshee i feel

The exarch icons for Fire Dragons and Dark Reapers are still photos of the miniatures btw. Maybe you could do those? Also, the Dire Avengers portrait and their exarch are looking very subpar.

Lulgrim, Caeltos, how should it be?
You guys want to use Hans's Fire Dragon + Dark Reaper portrait or should I make them and then you decide... ?
*confused a bit*
Since he is back and stuff

Well, I'm perfectly fine with the Fire Dragon since it's pretty accurate to their appearance, the Dark Reaper is however abit missleading to a degree - I still like the art nontheless - but as some might have pointed out, it does seem abit to Dark Eldarish (who knows, we might come across to re-use it for Dark Eldar in the future)
so Dark Reapers is probably okay for a re-ignition in their portrait, we could maybe use it for their Exarch tho so the token of appriciation is intact.

Just my 2 cents on the matter:
I would use all of Kilgarn's pictures so that the overview is done in 1 type of style, instead of having mixed styles. Like you said, you could still use the portraits Hans made for upgrades or other stuff. Still much love for your work Hans <3

Yeah its true that some of the unit leaders portraits (albeit very small in their size) could be redone like reaper exarch, fire dragon exarch etc! Also there is an idea! why dont you try on making a weapon design kilgarn? like the melta gun for the lord general (first thing that came to my head) It would be a unique challenge for you! Cheers man

It would make sense for all portraits to have a high level of consistency displayed in kilgarn's work. I'll love to continue doing more artwork for the mod where ever it is needed ^^

As for now, I'll focus on the IG portraits first and get the rest of the default roster done after it ^^ IG seriously need a hug
