'~' key overlay bug

when you press the '~' key it brings up that code overlay thing. When I press that button, nothing happens and the overlay pops up randomly; in-game, in lobby, etc. and I can't make it go away and when in-game, I can't control any units. So my only solution is to quit the game and relaunch. I have reinstalled elite once already. I'd love some help if anyone knows anything about it. I'm running bootcamp with a bluetooth keyboard. I've used 2 different keyboards so it shouldn't be the keyboard.

It should go away if you just press the key again. It shouldn't happen "randomly", only when you press the key. Happens for me whenever I hit the apostrophe when I'm typing in chat.

I used to be stuck like this a long time ago when I didn't know that the apostrophe opened the panel and it left quaking in my boots when ever I used chat. A simple touch of the button again will make it go, unless you might be hitting something else and thinking that opens/closes it.
