				Disappearing for a few days

Well went to go boot up my computer today and 0 power flowing through it all. Power supply failed so i now have to order a new one. Don't expect to see me playing games for a few days at least as it takes a while to get a new one shipped here + finding a reason to explain why i spent $100 on a new reliable power supply with rent money running low. I should still be somewhat active in streams and such in the meantime on my laptop, but i'll be disappearing for a few days from streaming / playing etc

				Thanks noisy, sure thing man
Also regarding my pc for those wondering i did some digging and tore the computer completely apart (cleaning) except for the power supply. I literally voided the warranty (was expired anyway) and tore it open to see the problem. Come to find out there had been a semi explosion or something because there was a glue like substance (insert sperm joke here) covering a bunch of components in the power supply. Seems i got lucky with it not starting instead of attempting to start and blowing up

Uh, that sounds like thermal paste? But it shouldn't be in there.

Sounds like an issue to do with overheating. How often did you clean it?

Once every 3-4 months is how often i usually cleaned it, i use canned air (lul) to spray out the components i can't clean manually (with an extremely dry rag or something of the sorts) still frustrating, was planning on a 24 hour stream soon but i guess now i won't have to worry about my pc exploding while streaming

Not sure why it would be thermal paste, as that seems like a really odd place for it to be. Considering you probably didn't slob the stuff when you were putting the fan against the CPU, I don't see how it could have leaked. Plus, the stuff doesn't run easily.
What you're probably looking at is the oil from the bearings or the capacitors in the power supply. However, the amount of fluid leakage should be minimal, just several mils. If there's an ample amount of the stuff you've noticed, then I'm not really sure.

Btw, since you are american I would recommend using this site to purchase the stuff you need.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... IsNodeId=1That's only a small section of the PSUs there are way more I don't know your specs but a 650W is pretty standard these days so imo you should spend around 70-90 dollars on it not really much more not less unless you get a good deal.

i tried ordering off newegg, had a nice power supply with 1 day shipping + rush ordered so i could avoid being dreadfully bored for the weekend. about an hour after i placed my order they said my order was cancelled and i was using "false information" (same information i've used to make other online purchases) so i talked with a chat lady and she was going to fix it, hours passed, i got fed up with newegg and just ordered off tigerdirect.com (got a nice corsair 750 watt modular psu) and that's to be expected to arrive monday

Either way it was all very strange, the night before i had literally just got done streaming some coh2 and everything has run fine over the past month easily, no blue screens or anything to indicate that any component was failing. very strange indeed but i'm fortunate it didn't damage any other components and i have the replacement on the way.

Eh, that's how it goes for elettronics, it was the same when my old GPU died, all fine and nice the day before, return home, and guess what, it was completely dead with 4 capacitators blown up.

Some people get screwed like that. My brother just replaced a faulty PSU and a week later, as he gets into his gaming session before he goes back to uni, his fan dies for no reason (would fail shortly after post noting CPU Fan was not working). So he has to use his stock fan instead. Computer parts just die and sometimes you get unlucky and you end up with the failing components that fall outside of the 6 sigma distribution.

This is perfectly suited for Random shit. Has nothing to do with the game.

He kinda does have a point here though. I'm no mod so not my call to make ^^
Make sure you don't destroy your pc while installing new parts

Because we really need your casting and the playthrough!

i put it here because i do quite a bit of activities related to the game (stream, cast etc) so in that regard it is relevant to the game

Crazy, you didn't mention anything to do with the game here though, so it's none game related, so it's random shit.
If you had been posting about a stream you were doing, maybe that could be general discussion? But posting that you won't be streaming is definitely random shit.

Unless everyone for some reason expects you will do, yes. I don't remember if at the time of posting this you were streaming daily?
