				It defies the lore.
A slugga boy is the most grottiest of all the boyz. They are NOT mekboys. They wouldn't know how to fix a deff dread or a looted tank.
Why can they repair?
There should be a separate gretchin squad made available in t1 to help orks with their capping problems due to how shit sluggas are, so sluggas can stay in the fights and use their waaaagh buffs and then you have the gretchins have repair, and sluggas don't, since they are not grots or meks. 
Better balance. Better lore.

				Sounds like an idea that could backfire super hard by breaking balance. Either by making Orks trash or imo more likely just giving the capping rippers in T1.

				This didn't come off super well and it's a bit of an Inner Circle joke, but Torpid and I were talking about how Orks repair is not great and started proposing to give the Repair ability to basically any Ork unit we could. 
But things like Lootas having the Repair ability was like super lore heresy, to which it was pointed out that Sluggas repairing was also lore heresy. So now Weirdboys, Stikks, Gitz and Lootas will repair vehicles lore be damned amirite.

				Tyranids should not be able to cap. It defies the lore. 
Nids are driven by their instincts and synapse to just kill and absorb biomass.
Why can they cap?
Tyranids only win condition should be annihilation. They should not be able to win by Victory points.
Better balance. Better lore.

The cap means the amount of bio mass they have been able to consume. And they're fighting for territories to be able to kill and absorved
