I find when you're vs horde army or armies with plenty of light armor, and always on retreat!

usually i buy them when the enemy gets setup teams, so you dont have to invest in something like stormboyz
sometimes i'll get them vs blobby opponents as well, it can work wonders against catachans when you combine it with AWD to prevent them from avoiding it.

Never buy stikkbommaz since the nerf they got to damage don't go them get a weirdboy

I use them primarily as anti-melee when combined with AWD. For that purpose I love them vs chaos and nids.

Of course they are also good vs stuff like eldar who go something like 3x shuriken and thus you can quite easily end up wiping their SUTs with the stikkbombs.

He's talking about the KN accessory wargear, not the unit squad.

Stikkbombs are a upgrade for the knob

yeah i prefer weirdboy like every single game, it doesnt cost that much upkeep aswel

i mean u alr have shootas for damage against hordes, i find weirdboy wayy more versatile even against other hordes

i mean knob alr has a stun bomb and bomb acc so idk it felt like overkill, and u can fight those with weirdboy a move

but on 3v3s i saw comebacks with double bomma builds, but when i use them they kinda felt underwhelming xd, and nade on knob is my thing so idk why i would buy bommas

Stikkbommas in their current iteration are top tier disruption units. Their melee special attack is fantastic for bodyguarding your back line units, and their stun bombs work on all types of units, as well as having a shorter cooldown and lower cost now.

Basically, play them as a stun first unit. Use the actual stikkboms as a chance at knocking something important over. I don't even factor the damage in anymore, and that's totally fine. You only need 1 squad of Stikkbommas because the cooldown on the abilities is short enough that they can constantly disrupt stuff so long as you have red resource available. In large fights of ranged blob vs ranged blob, the stun means that you are doing WAY higher DPS than your opponent. Try to think of Stikkbommas in that kind of light.
