Noob looking for some 1v1 and some practice

Hi all,
I am a fan of RTS (SC2, COH2..) and quite new to the game and I would like to practice some 1v1. I tried to play through the matchmaking system but I can not find any game.
Does anyone want to play or help me to improve?

Automatching works but no one uses it so you have to use custom lobbies. Add people at your skill level to your friends list and go against them when they're online.
